The train journey begins in Puno and heads north to the former capital of the Inca Empire, Cuzco. This full-day train journey crosses the impressive landscape of the Peruvian highlands (Altiplano). During the journey, you will see the mighty mountains of the Andes and the plains in front of them, where vicuรฑas and alpacas graze. The observation car with bar offers an optimal view of the impressive landscape. A gourmet lunch is served on board the four dining cars and a performance of traditional dances and music completes the unique experience. Half-day tour to the Inca ruins around Cuzco (day 11), per person (from 2 people) โ‚ฌ 120 This morning you will visit the Inca ruins near Cuzco. The tour begins with a visit to Sacsayhuaman, a fortress on a hill overlooking the city of Cuzco. Then you will be driven to the temple of Kenko, which is dedicated to Mother Earth. Before returning to Cuzco, you will stop at Puka Pucara (the red fortress) and Tambomachay (bath of the Incas). Full-day tour to Rainbow Mountain (day 11), per person (from 2 people) โ‚ฌ 240 Day trip to Vinicunca Mountain, which has become famous worldwide as "Rainbow Mountain" thanks to its striking layers of color. You will be picked up from your hotel early in the morning and reach the starting point of your hike (4,350 m) after a 2.5-hour drive. After around 2 hours of hiking, you will be greeted by a magnificent view of the Rainbow Mountain (5,020 m). A short walk then takes you to a viewpoint over the Red Valley before you hike back to the vehicle along the same route (approx. 1 hour). Return journey to Cuzco. (This excursion is only offered from April to December and depends on the weather conditions).

      Transfer to Lima airport for your flight to Arequipa. Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, take a city tour (on foot) through Arequipa. Some of the old buildings are made of white volcanic rock, which is why it was given the name "White City". You will also visit the extraordinary Santa Catalina monastery. F

      Today you will travel to the highest navigable lake in the world, Lake Titicaca (speedboat together with other participants). You will first visit the island of Taquile, the island of the knitting men. Around midday you will reach the remote community of Luquina on the Chuquito peninsula. On your way back to Puno, you will make a final stopover on one of the floating reed islands of the Uros. F/M

      Transfer to the bus station in Puno. Full-day bus ride (with other participants) to Cusco. The first stop is at the "La Raya" pass at 4,335 m, which offers a wonderful view of the mighty Andes. The tour then continues to the Viracocha temple and the church of Andahuaylillas. (For an extra charge: train ride on the Titicaca Train instead of bus ride). F/M
