  • Day 1 Day 1: Ljubljana

      Day 1: Ljubljana

      Arrival at Ljubljana or nearby airport. Transfer to the city center. Enjoy a guided tour around the capital city. The guided tour will take you to the baroque old town, Preลกeren Square, Congress Square, the City Hall, the Cathedral, the Butchersโ€™ Bridge, the Dragon Bridge, and the open market, very popular with the locals. Access the castle in the easiest way by 70m-long funicular that leaves from Old Town not far from the market and you will be rewarded by excellent views of the city and the mountains and you can actually see 1/3 of the country if the weather is nice. After that you will have some free time to explore many hidden corners of the old town, see the well-preserved Roman walls, have a drink in one of the many bar and restaurants in the old town or just relax along the lively banks of the Ljubljanica, the river that gave its name to the city.       After breakfast, drive to Postojna and visit the famous karst cave, one of the largest in the world, among Sloveniaโ€™s most popular attractions and its stalagmite and stalactite formations are unequalled anywhere. There are more than ten thousand caves in the Slovenian Karst landscape. People say that Dante found his inspiration for the Purgatory in his Divine Comedy right here in the Slovenian Karst. Postojna Cave can boast with more than 35 million visitors, which is outstanding for a country as small as Slovenia. An electric train will take you into the caves and then enjoy in the underground karst world, where nature was the main architect through the millennia and has formed amazing formations. After the caves, continue to the north of the country and visit a beautiful glacial lake at the foot of the Julian Alps. Bled is definitely Sloveniaโ€™s most popular tourist resort, take a ride around the lake and enjoy the photo opportunities of this picturesque Slovenian treasure with its emerald-green lake, picture-postcard church on an islet and a medieval castle clinging to a rocky 139 m high cliff. Take the โ€˜pletnaโ€™ boat to the only real Slovenian island in the middle of the lake and ring the wishing bell in the 15th-century belfry of the church to ask a special favour and donโ€™t forget to try the typical and sinfully good cream cake kremsnita. You will also visit the Bled castle, one of the oldest ones in Slovenia, with a beautiful view of the lake and the Julian Alps. Leaving Bled, drive to Ljubljana.

      fter breakfast, we continue this Balkan private tour to Plitvice National Park, wonderful nature protected by UNESCO. The lakes in the park belong to the Karst world and have a unique hydrological and geomorphologic characteristic. Walk among the waterfalls, take a boat ride through the crystal water and make some magnificent photos. After the tour, drive to Zadar where you will overnight. Zadar is an energetic historic old town of Roman ruins, medieval churches and cosmopolitan cafes, so we recommend a walk through the lively streets of the city.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Split

      After breakfast head tor Split, where a local guide will take you through the charming Dalmatian city, and its Roman treasures. Explore the fortress-like Diocletianโ€™s Palace at the centre of the town, and learn about the areaโ€™s fascinating history as we see Jupiterโ€™s Temple, the Peristyle, the Cathedral and other Renaissance and Gothic buildings. Enjoy some free time for a walk through the narrow cobbled streets, which add to the charm of this Mediterranean city. Overnight in Split.

      After breakfast, drive to Dubrovnik where a local guide will show you around this world-famous Dalmatian city, also called the Pearl of Adriatic; it has a rich and interesting history, which is seen on every step: city gates, forts, city walls with coat of arms of the patron Saint Blasius, military warehouseโ€ฆ all remind us of the turbulent periods of the city with its marble streets, baroque buildings and the ancient city walls that have protected the sophisticated republic and city for centuries. Enjoy some free time in the lively streets of Dubrovnik. Overnight in Dubrovnik or vicinity.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Mostar

      After breakfast continue to Medjugorje, the legend says that in 1981 the Virgin Mary appeared to six children on a hillside in Medjugorje and since then, the small village has become one of the most important European pilgrimage sites. Medjugorje is actually a Slavic word meaning a place between the mountains. After the visit, drive to Mostar. Overnight in Mostar.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Sarajevo

      Day 7: Sarajevo

      After breakfast get to know the picturesque Mostar, which owes its name to the famous bridge over the Neretva River (most=bridge). During your tour of this UNESCO World Heritage-listed city, youโ€™ll see its historic Old Bridge, the colorful Old Bazaar with traditional handicrafts and a well-preserved traditional Turkish houses. Shop for handmade local crafts or enjoy lunch during your free time. After visiting Mostar drive to the Bosnian capital and the charismatic Sarajevo. Despite that, the city still retains its traditional habits โ€“ in everydayโ€™ s life as well as in food. Sarajevo became (in)famous in 1914, when a young Serb Gavrilo Princip assassinated the archduke Franz Ferdinand. This was the excuse for the Austro-Hungarian Empire to start a war against Serbia, which then grew into the First World War. Overnight in Sarajevo.

      In the morning, we join the guided tour of Sarajevo: spot where the Sarajevo Assassination took place, Gazi Husrev Beyโ€™s Bezistan, Taลกlihan, Jewish Museum, Ferhad Paลกaโ€™s Mosque, Cathedral of Jesusโ€™ Sacred Heart, Sarajevo โ€œRosesโ€, Old Orthodox Church. Beside this, you will also see some other interesting places related to the various historical events. Later you can enjoy some free time in the famous oriental old town โ€˜Baลกฤarลกijaโ€™ and try some local food or shop for colorful handicrafts. Overnight in Sarajevo.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Jajce

      Day 9: Jajce

      After breakfast we head for Travnik, once the capital of the Ottoman vizier from 1686th to 1850th, We do a short break there and then continue to Jajce a โ€˜birth placeโ€™ of former Yugoslavia. There we will visit the museum that presents this important session in 1943. Then we have some free time to walk around to see the scenic waterfalls and fortress. Then we drive to Banja Luka the second largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It represents the cultural, economic and adminis-trative center of the Republika Srpska entity. After the short visit, we continue to Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia. Overnight in Zagreb.

      After breakfast enjoy a guided tour of the Croatiaโ€™s capital, which will reveal its most important cultural and architectural attractions: the Cathedral, the main Ban Jelaฤiฤ square, the open market, the lively Tkalฤiฤ streetโ€ฆ and after that enjoy some free time to further explore the city and sample some local food.
