  • Day 2 Day 2: St. Hilarion - Bellapais - Kyrenia

      Day 2: St. Hilarion - Bellapais - Kyrenia

      On the way to the north coast you will first stop at the mountain fortress of St. Hilarion. The ruin offers you a charming view of the coast. Afterwards you will visit the Gothic monastery ruins of Bellapais. We continue to Kyrenia, a small port town at the foot of the Pentadaktylos Mountains. The medieval fortress and the horseshoe-shaped fishing harbor will take you back to the past. (F)

  • Day 3 Day 3: Famagusta And Salamis

      Day 3: Famagusta And Salamis

      In the east of the island you will visit the old town of Famagusta, framed by mighty city walls, and see, among other things, the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque. On the beach you will have the opportunity to take a look at the ghost town of Varosha, once a thriving tourist center. Afterwards, explore the excavation site of the ancient city of Salamis before making a detour to the Monastery of St. Barnabas. (F)

      Day 4: Capital Nicosia

      Today an interesting cultural mix awaits you in the last divided capital of Europe. In the morning you will cross the border line to the Turkish occupied part of the city. There you will visit the Ayia Sophia Cathedral and the Caravanserai. In the Greek south you will visit the Archaeological Museum with its important finds and the Agios Ioannis Cathedral with its rich frescoes. In the evening you will dine in a local taverna. (B/A)

      Your journey today will take you to the untouched nature of the remote Karpaz Peninsula. At the northeastern end you will visit the monastery of St. Andrew the Apostle, which is one of the most important pilgrimage sites of the Greek Orthodox Cypriots. Afterwards, a secluded, natural sandy beach invites you for a walk or a swim in the sea. (F)

      Day 6: Culture And Traditions

      After breakfast you will visit the archaeological site of Idalion. In the village of Athienou you will experience real Cypriot baking and taste the typical bread. Afterwards, a local will introduce you to the production of halloumi cheese, which you will also taste. At the end of the day you will experience Larnaka, where you will marvel at the icon paintings of the Lazarus Church and have time for your own explorations. (F)

      Day 7: Soli And Vouni

      The excavations of Soli reveal, among other things, an early Christian basilica from the 4th century with large floor mosaics. A few kilometers away is another excavation site, simply called "Vouni" (hill) because of its location. Here is said to have once been a palace with ancient bathing facilities. Enjoy the view from the wild coast over the fertile hilly landscape to the Troodos Mountains. (F)

      Day 8: In The Footsteps Of Religious Art

      In the morning you will drive to the mountain village of Kakopetria, which is surrounded by trees and has preserved its original character. Afterwards you will visit the church of Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis, a jewel of Byzantine art (UNESCO World Heritage Site), before visiting the most famous monastery of the island, the Kykkos Monastery. The monastery complex is located at about 1,200 meters above sea level in the Troodos Mountains and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. 7 nights at the beach hotel in Limassol. (F)

      Day 9: On The Road With Aphrodite

      Enjoy the unique beauty nature of Cyprus. You will hike from the famous Aphrodite Rock along the southwestern coast with magnificent views of the turquoise sea (easy, 6 km, walking time: approx. 2 hours, +80/-50 meters altitude gain). At the end of the hike, you will enjoy a leisurely picnic of various local products. The afternoon is free for you. Relax at the hotel pool or on the beach of Limassol. (B/P)

      Day 10: Roman Relics

      Today you will discover the "Rock of Aphrodite", where according to legend the goddess was born from the foam of the sea. Afterwards you will visit the cave monastery of Saint Neofytos. In Paphos (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Greek history and mythology combine with Roman lifestyle. The magnificent royal tombs and Roman villas await you with magnificent floor mosaics. (F)

      Day 11: Cyprus Northwest

      In the port of Latchi an excursion boat will take you to the charming Akamas coast (weather permitting). In the "Blue Lagoon" you can dare a jump into the crystal clear water. Afterwards you go to the "Baths of Aphrodite". Here you follow the nature trail for a short distance with a beautiful view of the coast. With ouzo, fresh fruits and Cypriot delicacies you will enjoy the fantastic view during a photo stop in Peyia. (F)

  • Day 12 Day 12: Troodos Mountains

      Also included in the UNESCO World Heritage of Painted Churches are the Asinou Church and the Barn Roof Church in Galata. In the wine village of Omodos, stroll through the alleys and visit the Holy Cross Monastery. (F)

      Day 13: Hike Macheras Monastery

      Today you will hike along a stream at the foot of Macheras Mountain. On the way you will be accompanied by a lush display of plants and herbs. Then you will pass through a pine forest to the Macheras Monastery, where you will have a short rest. Your hike continues to the beautiful village of Fikardou, which is a protected monument (moderate, 7 km, approx. 2.5 hrs, +500/-380 hm). (F)

  • Day 14 Day 14: Kourion And Colossi

      Day 14: Kourion And Colossi

      You will start the day at the ruins of the royal city of Kourion. Among the excavation treasures are the ancient theater and the villa of Eustolios. Afterwards you will visit the medieval fortress of Kolossi, once famous for the production of wine and cane sugar. Nearby is an orchard that invites you to harvest and taste tasty fruits. In the evening, a local family welcomes you to Apsiou: "Kopiaste!" Together you will prepare local specialties and end the day convivially with a typical "meze". (B/A)
