  • Day 1 Day 1: Kuching – Sarikei (Ulu Sarikei) – Sibu (338 Km)

      Day 1: Kuching – Sarikei (Ulu Sarikei) – Sibu (338 Km)

      Your adventure starts at 0700 hrs with a transfer to the ferry terminal to board the local express boat (not accompanied by guide) for a 3.5 hrs ride to Sarikei. Enjoy the riverside scenery of small towns and longhouses along the Batang Rejang River. Meet your local guide at Sarikei and overland to Ulu Sarikei passing scenic views of hilly landscapes, pepper vineyards, rubber tree estates, paddy fields, and longhouses.

      At Ulu Sarikei longhouse enjoy a nature walk in the forest rich with flora and fauna. Discover the Pua Kumbu - a traditional patterned multicolored ceremonial cotton cloth used by the Iban for lifecycle rituals and special events. 

      Head up to Sibu, known as the Heart of Sarawak. Explore the fascinating Night Market. 

  • Day 2 Day 2: Sibu – Sungai Kut – Dalat – Oya – Mukah (244 Km)

      Discover Sibu’s rich heritage in a walking tour. Visit the century-old Tua Peng Kong temple, the beautiful Seven Storey Pagoda (Kuan Ying), Sibu’s oldest commodities trading point and wharf also known as the “Floating Market”, Sibu Heritage Centre, a compilation of Sibu history, local ethnic and cultures, lifestyle and traditions and lastly, the   biggest   Central   Market in Malaysia, which consists of 1,200 stalls and varieties of commodities including jungle produce.


      Enjoy a 1½-hour speedboat ride to Dalat, cruising through the mighty Rajang and Igan River passing Malay villages, shipyards, timber & sago processing factories, Iban longhouses and Melanau village that bring you back to the feel of the ancient Sarawak when water transportation played a significant role. En-route stops at peaceful Sungai Kut Melanau Village for a walk.

      Continue to Dalat by passing through the rainforest and mangrove. On the last part of the speedboat journey from Sungai Kut depending on the tide, you may have to be transferred by a 15 minutes overland journey to Dalat. Upon arrival in Dalat, visit a Church by the River & the Dalat Icon – The Jerunei Garden. Enjoy your overland trip to Mukah passing through the serene and picturesque town of Oya. 


      Check into the Lamin Dana, a semi traditional Melanau house overlooking the river at Mukah. Go for a village walk and learn about the mystical past beliefs of the Melanau community by visiting the burial grounds of ancient Jerunei. Enjoy an exotic Melanau Dinner. If weather permits, watch the tiny twinkling orangey fireflies among the trees in Lamin Dana. Overnight in Lamin Dana.  

  • Day 3 Day 3: Mukah – Bintulu (150 Km)

      Take another boat ride along the Tellian River and Misan River. Visit a local sago processing centre in the cottage industry of producing Sago Pearls in a traditional method. Visit a sago bake house to see how sago is being baked into sago pearls for local consumption and export.


      Continue the boat ride to Mukah River and visit the Mukah market where you may encounter exotic food like the sago Worm, Umai (fresh raw fish similar to sushi) and others.


      Return to Lamin Dana and Melanau where lunch will be served. Bid farewell to the locals and proceed overland to Bintulu using the only cross division road. Rest of the day is free at leisure in Bintulu.


  • Day 4 Day 4: Bintulu – Niah National Park - Miri (225 Km)

      Day 4: Bintulu – Niah National Park - Miri (225 Km)

      Explore the spectacular Niah National Park. Take the longboat ride at Pangkalan Lobang to cross the river where we will start off with a visit to the Niah Museum. 

      The oldest human remains were found in Niah making the park one of the most important archaeological sites of the world. 

      Tour of the cave will take you through the Great and Painted Caves as well as allowing you to witness the age-old remnants of bird’s nest harvesting equipment inside the cave (now a government-controlled activity). 

      Proceed to Miri, the second largest city in Sarawak. The rest of the day at leisure in Miri.

      Free at leisure until departure transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
