      Day 2: Arrival In Kuching

      Arrival in Kuching and transfer to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you can use the evening for a walk along the promenade along the Sarawak River and explore Chinatown. Overnight stay at the hotel. (Walking time approx. 3h, 5 km, driving time approx. 25 min, approx. 13 km).

  • Day 3 Day 3: Kuching - Excursion To Bako National Park

      Day 3: Kuching - Excursion To Bako National Park

      In the morning, you drive to Sarawakโ€™s smallest and oldest national park. You will cover the last few kilometers along the coast by boat. Bako NP is home to exotic plant treasures such as carnivorous pitcher plants as well as the proboscis monkey, which is endemic to Borneo. The deeper you penetrate into the jungle, the higher the probability of encountering long-tailed macaques, silver leaf monkeys, monitor lizards and bearded pigs. Return to Kuching in the afternoon. Overnight stay as on the previous day. (Travel time approx. 1h, 50 km, boat trip approx. 25 min.).

  • Day 4 Day 4: Kuching - Iban Longhouse

      Day 4: Kuching - Iban Longhouse

      Visit to the Semenggoh Orangutan Center before setting off for your longhouse visit. The journey takes you past the lively Serian market to the Lemanak River. There you will board a longboat that will take you to the Iban. During the tour of the longhouse, you will learn more about the way of life and history of this people. In the evening, the Iban invite you to attend their traditional dances. Overnight stay in the longhouse. (Travel time approx. 4.5 hours, 260 km).

      Day 5: Iban Longhouse - Kuching

      Enjoy the morning atmosphere in the village or take a refreshing dip in the river. Today the Iban will show you how to use their silent yet effective weapon - the blowpipe. After lunch together, say goodbye to your hosts and return to Kuching by boat and bus. Overnight stay at the hotel. (Travel time approx. 4.5 hours, 260 km).

  • Day 6 Day 6: Kuching - Mulu National Park

      Day 6: Kuching - Mulu National Park

      In the morning, you fly from Kuching to Mulu and drive into the jungle of the national park of the same name. You hike to Lang Cave - with its magnificent stalactite formations - and Deer Cave - with the largest cave entrance in the world. As dusk falls, millions of bats stream out of the cave to forage in the surrounding rainforest - an impressive natural spectacle! Overnight stay at Mulu Park Headquarters. (Walking time approx. 2 hours, 3 km, driving time approx. 10 minutes, 5 km).

      Day 7: Mulu National Park

      Take a longboat to Wind Cave, famous for its large, slender stalactites and stalagmites. In front of Clearwater Cave, which has the longest underground water system (106 km) in Southeast Asia, enjoy a dip in the clear water of natural pools that have formed outside the cave. You drive back to your accommodation and climb a treetop path, which offers great views of the jungle canopy. The rest of the day is at your leisure in the national park. Overnight stay as on the previous day.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Mulu National Park - Kota Kinabalu

      Day 8: Mulu National Park - Kota Kinabalu

      You fly on from Mulu to Kota Kinabalu. Use the afternoon for a stroll through the town and visit a market. You can watch the sunset over a drink on the waterfront promenade. Overnight stay at the hotel. (Travel time approx. 30 min, 10 km).

  • Day 9 Day 9: Kota Kinabalu - Kundasang

      Day 9: Kota Kinabalu - Kundasang

      You drive to Kinabalu National Park. Hike through the park and discover the species-rich flora of Borneo, such as orchids, ferns and Rafflesia. Then drive to Kundasang, where you will visit the vegetable market. The evening is at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel. (Travel time approx. 3 hours, 130 km).

  • Day 10 Day 10: Kundasang - Sepilok

      Day 10: Kundasang - Sepilok

      Drive overland through evergreen landscapes, plantations and small villages to the east of Sabah and make a stop at the hot springs of Poring. Then continue to the village of Sepilok. The rest of the day is at leisure in a picturesque setting. Orangutans can often be observed in the immediate vicinity. Overnight stay at the resort. (Travel time approx. 5.5 hours, 280 km).

      Day 11: Sepilok: Orangutans And Malayan Bears

      Visit to the Sepilok Orangutan Center, where efforts are being made to protect these endangered animals. Next door, at the Borneo Sun Bear Center, Malaysian bears found injured in the rainforest are cared for and prepared for release into the wild. In the afternoon, drive to the Rainforest Discovery Centre and take another impressive treetop walk at a height of 25 meters. Return to the hotel afterwards. Overnight stay as on the previous day. (Travel time approx. 35 min, 25 km).

  • Day 12 Day 12: Sepilok - Kinabatangan

      Day 12: Sepilok - Kinabatangan

      Drive to the next lodge, which is located directly on the banks of the Kinabatangan River. An afternoon river safari awaits you, during which you can look out for proboscis monkeys and other primates that are particularly active in the evening hours. Elephants, hornbills and many other bird species may also cross your path. The river with its embankments is simply perfect for intensive wildlife observation. Overnight stay in a lodge to the sounds of the rainforest at night. (Travel time approx. 2 hours, 105 km, boat trip approx. 2 hours).

  • Day 13 Day 13: Kinabatangan: River Safari

      Day 13: Kinabatangan: River Safari

      An early start to the day promises the best chance of spotting more animals. In search of Borneoโ€™s fauna, you take another boat trip on the river in the light morning mist. Perhaps you will come across a group of Borneo pygmy elephants that have made their way out of the dense rainforest to the riverbanks at an early hour? Return to the lodge and breakfast. During the afternoon river safari you will have another opportunity to observe more animals. Overnight stay as on the previous day. (Boat trip approx. 2 hours).

  • Day 14 Day 14: Kinabatangan - Sandakan

      Day 14: Kinabatangan - Sandakan

      After breakfast and check-out, take the boat to Bilit Jetty and drive to Sandakan. On the way, stop at Labuk Bay, a conservation center for proboscis monkeys. Observe the fascinating animals and, with a bit of luck, you may also see hornbills and monitor lizards. In Sandakan, you will go on an exploration tour and visit various sights, such as the central market and a Buddhist temple. Then transfer to the hotel and check-in. Overnight stay at the hotel. (Travel time approx. 2 hours, approx. 120 km).

  • Day 15 Day 15: Sandakan - Kota Kinabalu
