  • Day 1 Day 1: (Mon, Wed, Fri) : Kuala Lumpur โ€“ Kuala Tembeling (200 Km) โ€“ Dedari Village

      Meet at the lobby between 07.30am to 07.45am to be transferred to the shuttle coach for your 4 hrs journey to Kuala Tembeling jetty where you will register with the National Park and Wildlife Department. 


      Enjoy your 3 hrs boat journey passing by local villages and lush tropical rainforest to the National Park, Taman Negara. Spot kingfishers, hornbills, monkeys, monitor lizards or water buffaloes along the river. 


      At 2030 hrs meet your guide for a brief orientation introduction. Enjoy a night jungle walk looking out for nocturnal plants and insects amidst the chorus of the rainforest. Do note however, sighting of wildlife in the tropical forest due to its density, is a bonus.

      Morning explore and experience the nomadic life of the Bateq tribesmen, how they co-exist with the jungle as their home, as they gather food, find medicinal plants and other native lifestyle activities for a half a day. Learn about their survival skills. Local lunch Bateq style, enjoy the food that was gathered.


      In the afternoon learn about their simple and peaceful life of sharing and other interesting cultural beliefs in Dedari Village. 


      AOS pledges a RM10 contribution per adult tour participant to the Community Based Eco Tourism of Dedari.

      0930hrs embark on for 1 ยฝ hours jungle walk up Teresek Hill and be rewarded with a panoramic view of the tropical rainforest at the top. Continue your adventure on a canopy walkway, built 40 meters above the ground and 530 meters in length for a โ€œon top of the worldโ€ experience, amongst the lush rainforest. Lunch at a floating restaurant.


      This afternoon enjoy an excursion to the cataracts of Lata Berkoh. There is a small pool delightful for swimming, resting or reading on the rocky area overlooking the river. The boat will drift along the river quietly in search of wild birds and animals. However, sighting of wildlife is not guaranteed.

      At 01.30pm depart for a 3.5 hrs overland journey to Kuala Lumpur or Kuantan with a supplement.



      Notes:

      โ€ข The rainy season in Taman Negara is from November to February. On the occasion of heavy rain, we reserve the right to make necessary changes to the itinerary.

      โ€ข The accommodation at the Bateq Jungle Hut is very basic. You will be sleeping in a sleeping bag on a simple mattress on the floor. No electricity and water heater are available.

      โ€ข Please bring insect repellent, trekking/sport shoe, long pants, long sleeve shirt, flashlight, swimwear, small rucksack, hat/cap, raincoat/disposable poncho, sandals, sunblock lotion, small torchlight and a sweater for the cool nights.

      โ€ข Camera and fishing license is payable at Kuala Tembeling. 

      โ€ข If you are returning to Kuala Lumpur city, you may leave your luggage in the hotel luggage storage room and bring instead, an overnight backpack for the Park.

      โ€ข Boat rides are always on shared basis including for private tours and the max number of persons is as per the boat license.

      โ€ข Visitors to the canopy walk (closed on Thurs) are capped at 600 per day and will be on a 1st come 1st serve basis.

      โ€ข Gifts for Orang Asli: We do encourage bringing simple gifts when visiting the native settlement, a normal Asian custom. However, we do recommend items such as exercise books, pencil, rice or biscuits. Sweets and snacks especially in non-biodegradable plastics are not encouraged.

      โ€ข The ETD of any onward flight from Kuala Lumpur on the last day should be from 09.30pm onwards.

      โ€ข Local State Taxes and the Tourism Tax or both, ranging from RM 2 to RM 10 per room per night are payable direct to the hotel.
