      Immerse yourself in the rich colonial history of Malacca, which was once the center of world trade (UNESCO World Heritage Site), during your morning city tour. The city impresses with its Chinese merchantsโ€™ houses, the Portuguese fortress gate, the Dutch square and Indian temples. In the afternoon, we return from the historic city of Malacca to the bustling metropolis of Kuala Lumpur, where you have the evening at leisure. Malaysiaโ€™s culinary diversity is waiting to be discovered by you in the numerous cookshops. 2 nights in Kuala Lumpur. (F)

      Today, get to know the multicultural capital and its unique mix of styles, including huge skyscrapers, urban highways, colonial architecture, numerous colorful temples and Islamic buildings during your city tour. A photo stop at the world-famous Petronas Twin Towers, the countryโ€™s landmark, completes the tour. Afterwards, you will visit Batu Cave, which is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus in Malaysia. If you like, you can end the evening in the lively Chinatown. (F)

      Day 5: Cameron Highlands

      After visiting the Lata Iskandar waterfall, you will reach the Cameron Highlands today. Due to the altitude at about 1,500 meters, the fertile region is the center of local tea cultivation. On an easy hike through the cloud forest, you will experience moss-covered trees and exotic pitcher plants. Afterwards, you will gain interesting insights into local tea cultivation at a plantation. 1 night in the Highlands. (F)

  • Day 6 Day 6: Penang

      Day 6: Penang

      On your way to Penang, you will stop at an orang utan reserve and, with a little luck, catch your first glimpse of the apes. Over one of the longest bridges in the world (13.5 km) you will reach Penang Island. 2 nights in Penang. (F)

      Day 7: George Town

      Today you will explore the islandโ€™s capital George Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The narrow streets of the historic center are still very busy and Chinese temples, mosques, Christian churches, Indian temples and colonial buildings still characterize the cityscape. Stroll through this maze of alleys and pay a visit to the Peranakan Mansion Museum, among others. In the evening, stroll through the night market and sample culinary delights. (F)

      Day 8: Kuching

      Today you fly on from Penang to Kuching, the capital of the Malaysian state of Sarawak on Borneo. Borneo is the third largest island in the world and is home to an incredible diversity of species, most of which are found exclusively on the island. On your city tour, you will see English colonial buildings as well as evidence of Malaysian, Chinese and Indian culture in the form of temples, churches and mosques alongside modern buildings. You will spend the following two nights in Kuching. (F)

  • Day 9 Day 9: Bako National Park

      Day 9: Bako National Park

      After a short drive you will reach the fishing village of Bako. A boat ride takes you to the oldest national park in Sarawak. This offers an impressive variety of flora and fauna. With a little luck you can also observe some rare animal species, such as proboscis monkeys, monitor lizards or exotic birds. In the late afternoon return to Kuching. (B/M)

      You return to Kuching and from there fly on to Kota Kinabalu. After check-in at your hotel, you will gain a first impression of the capital of Sabah in the north of Borneo on a late afternoon walk. 2 nights in Kota Kinabalu. (F)

      Enjoy quiet hours at your beach resort. Today you can also walk to the Sarawak Cultural Center, where you can gain exciting insights into the various ethnic groups of the state of Sarawak. A multicultural dance performance rounds off your visit. (F/M)

      Today you will take a trip to the beautiful Gaya Island. After breakfast you will be picked up, taken to the harbor and board the boat. Look forward to an extensive snorkeling excursion and relaxation on the beach before returning to Kota Kinabalu. (B/M)

      Day 10: Orang Utan Reserve

      Today, a visit to a reintroduction station for orangutans is on your agenda. With a little luck, you can observe the reddish-brown, shaggy apes as they shimmy from branch to branch and go in search of food. Afterwards, you will drive to the coast outside of Kuching and spend the next two nights at a beach resort in Damai Beach. (F)

  • Day 14 Day 14: Farewell To Malaysia

      You will have time for your own activities until your transfer to the airport. In due course, you will be transferred to Kota Kinabalu Airport and return home via Kuala Lumpur. (F)
