The mausoleum is located on top of Lovฤ‡en mountain (1660m above sea level) and there are exactly 461 stairs leading to it. At the time of its opening in 1974. it was the highest altitute mausoleum in the world. Lunch time. In the afternoon we will come down to Budva - the center of tourism.

  • Day 4 Old Bar And Queen Olive
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Old Bar And Queen Olive

Free morning - get a rest, enjoy breakfast or go for a swim at the nearby beach.

We gather at 13.00h for a drive to Bar - the sunniest town in Montenegro. Today we are going to explore Old town Bar, an outstanding historic and archaeological site situated 4 km from the center.

Old town Bar used to be full of inhabitants who were engaged in various kinds of trading, selling olive oil, salt, craftworks etc. One part of it - called Podgrad (Undertown), dates from the middle century, but is inhabited even today. There are several old inns and craft shops, as also two mosques and a catholic church. Outside of the fortification, in Mirovica, we are going to see "Stara Maslina" (The Old Olive Tree), one of the oldest trees on the entire planet that has been here for well over two millennia. Considering that Bar is the center of Montenegrin olive growing and that many families here have a long-standing tradition of producing quality olive oil, we will visit the Olive Queen estate of Novakoviฤ‡ family.

In this very authentic ambiance, we will taste local wine, olive oil, various local delicacies, all accompanied with a story about their long-standing family tradition and production techniques.
