      Arrive in Kyiv โ€“ the capital of Ukraine! 

      Welcome to Ukraine! We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the heart of the city. Take a walk around this town and have a meal in one of the many local restaurants.


  • Day 2 Day 2: Kyiv

      Day 2: Kyiv

      Explore the old city district, see the new city centre, and wander down Andriivsky Uzviz, where Ukraineโ€™s artists live and work. See the Golden Gates, the many beautiful Cathedrals, take a walk down Khreshchatyk Street and Independence Square. In the afternoon we have a special treat โ€“ a traditional Ukrainian Zabava, where everyone will have a chance to learn traditional Central Ukrainian songs and dances from our special guests! Intrigued? Good!

  • Day 3 Day 3: Kyiv - Ivano-Frankivsk

      Day 3: Kyiv - Ivano-Frankivsk

      Today we will visit the Holodomor museum devoted to one of the most terrible crimes against Ukrainian nation โ€“ famine.  Next youโ€™ll have a chance to visit a real spiritual Mecca โ€“ the Kyiv Lavra Cave Monastery. In the evening we will hop on an overnight train and travel to the quaint town of Ivano-Frankivsk!

  • Day 4 Day 4: Kosiv

      Day 4: Kosiv

      Upon arrival into Ivano-Frankivsk, we will take you out for breakfast in a great centrally located restaurant. After, we will enjoy some local history and legends on a brief city tour. As we travel to the mountains, we will stop in a small town called Kolomyia to see the worldโ€™s only Pysanka Museum (Easter Egg) as well as the Hutsul Ethnography Museum โ€“ the collection of costumes, tools and art will help you to imagine how our ancestors lived.  After lunch, we will get back on the road and travel to Kosiv โ€“ the centre of Hutsulshyna and the artistic capital of the region.

      After check-in at the hotel, enjoy a relaxing night in after a busy day of travelling and exploring.


  • Day 5 Day 5: Kosiv

      Day 5: Kosiv

      Get ready to be inspired by the beauty of the Carpathian Mountains. In the morning, weโ€™ll travel to the village of Yavoriv, to see how traditional local wool blankets, โ€œlizhnykyโ€, are made.

      Then weโ€™re off to the picturesque Verkhovyna where youโ€™ll visit a house museum famous from the film โ€˜Shadows of Forgotten Ancestorsโ€™ by cinema guru Sergiy Paradzhanov. Feel the true Hutsul atmosphere and observe how the household of our ancestors looked like. 

      Our next stop at the Museum of Hutsul Magic is sure to impress you as you learn about the mountain magicians called molphars. It is said that they could cleanse the dark clouds, stop rain, and even heal cancer with tincture from vipers.

      Youโ€™ll have the evening off to relax at the hotel or simply enjoy the stunning Carpathian Mountain views.


  • Day 6 Day 6: Bukovets

      Day 6: Bukovets

      Today we will take our time to enjoy the beauty around us. Youโ€™ll visit the local crafts bazaar where craftsmen from around the area bring in their works to sell.

      Afterwards, another Cobblestone exclusive awaits! You are cordially invited to a Hutsul family house, located deep in the Carpathian Mountains! You will learn traditional songs and customs, sample local delicacies and experience real Carpathian hospitality! 

      In the evening, return to the hotel and enjoy a relaxing night in, or explore the town a bit more on your own.


  • Day 7 Day 7: Kosiv - Lviv

      Day 7: Kosiv - Lviv

      Today we begin our journey to the city of Lviv - lovingly referred to as the โ€˜Paris of Ukraineโ€™.

      To claim that Lviv is the tourist capital of Ukraine is not an overstatement. Mysterious and architectural beauty, this UNESCOโ€“listed city will definitely make you fall in love with its charm! Once we arrive in Lviv, we will check in to the hotel and then enjoy a walking city tour taking you to worthy sights and discover rich history of this magnificent place!

      Afterwards - take advantage of shopping in the city: numerous souvenir stores, art galleries and an open-air craft market offer a variety of artwork, embroidery, woodcarving and more! 


  • Day 8 Day 8: Lviv

      Day 8: Lviv

      In the morning, weโ€™ll take you on a tour around the famous Lychakiv Cemetery, a place where famous Ukrainian writers, politicians and public figures are buried. 

      Next, a visit to Shevchenkivsky Hai open-air ethnography museum. that houses examples of traditional architecture from around Ukraine. To end our visit, enjoy an artisanal master class in straw weaving or Pysanka making โ€“ it will be extra special taking home a souvenir that youโ€™ve made!

      After a busy day of exploring, we invite you to a farewell dinner โ€“ we will enjoy delicious local food and drinks, look back at our favorite tour moments, and, perhaps, start planning the next one!


  • Day 9 Day 9: Lviv

      Day 9: Lviv

      Today is your final day to stock up on souvenirs before we transfer you to the airport where, sadly, we will have to say our goodbyes! Thank you for travelling with Cobblestone Freeway!
