  • Day 2 The Golden Circle
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      The Golden Circle

Thingvellir National Park is the  first stop of the day. Volcanic fields and mountains surrounded by snow  will blow your mind. It is one of the most beautiful locations in  Iceland. Thingvellir has an amazing cultural heritage as Iceland’s first  parliament was founded there in the year 930 AD. To add even more  uniqueness to the location, its geological features are truly amazing  and exceptional. This is because of the exposed North American and  Eurasian tectonic plate on the surface. The location is an UNESCO  designated World Heritage site for these reasons.

Haukadalur  Geothermal Area will be your next stop on the Golden Circle route, where  you will find hot springs. Strokkur erupts every five to ten minutes,  creating amazing photo opportunities. Another site is the famous Geysir,  the original one that has named all other geysers in the world.

By  the end of the Golden Circle, we will stop at the must see waterfall,  Gullfoss. Water from the glacial river Hvítá rushes down two tiers of a  32 meters fall. The Golden Circle has gotten its name from Gullfoss,  which translates to the Golden Waterfall.

  • Day 3 Ice Caving On The South Coast
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Ice Caving On The South Coast

Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, Dyrhólaey, Black sand Beach, Katla Ice Cave

On this day you will be heading to the South Coast, towards the  magnificent Seljalandsfoss waterfall with a 65 meters drop. Moving on to  another waterfall, Skógafoss, that is one of the largest falls in all  of Iceland. We strongly recommend bringing or renting waterproof  clothes, if you want to explore the falls a little closer.

Next  we will visit Dyrhólaey. Known for its breathtaking vistas of Iceland’s  South Coast, the Dyrhólaey Peninsula is a remarkable 120-meter walkway  that also houses a renowned lighthouse, abundant bird species, and a  captivating rock arch bearing its name.

You will also visit  Reynisfjara, the famous Black Sand Beach. Surrounded by black basalt  columns, it is one of the most popular Icelandic places to visit. From  there you can see the rock formations Reynisdrangar. Also Dýrhólaey  Peninsula rises gracefully from the ocean, providing an astonishing  sight and shelter for birds like the razorbills.

Jump onto a Super jeep and explore the mighty Dragon Glass caves of ash and ice - Katla Volcano Ice Cave.  To get there, you’ll take a ride into the highlands on our 4x4 Super  jeep as you admire the majestic mountains and fields of moss.

You will then head on to your accommodation close to the idyllic coastal town of Vík.

  • Day 4 Jokulsarlon & Glacier Hike
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Jokulsarlon & Glacier Hike

      Glacier Hike, Jökulsárlón, Diamond Beach

You  will put on crampons, ice axes, and other essential glacier equipment  (provided by Troll). Once you reach the glacier, you will be surrounded  by the largest glacier in Europe. Expect to find another world while you  are on the ice, while you will be exploring crevasses, moulins, and  other natural phenomenas.

Please note that the glacier hike might take place on day 3 instead of day 4. Your guide will let you know on Day 2.

The next stop of the journey is the astonishing Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. We will take you on an unforgettable Boat Ride Tour at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon,  where you will get a chance to get closer to the floating icebergs! You  will see large icebergs drift calmly towards the ocean and follow their  path to the Diamond Beach, our following stop, where the icebergs  strand on the sand and resemble crystals as they lie on the black satin  beach.

Your night will be spent in the Southeast area.

  • Day 5 The Eastfjords
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      The Eastfjords

Icelandic history makes its appearance in the peaceful fishing  villages you pass along the way, as fishing has always been a big part  of Icelandic culture.

You will travel along Lake Lagarfljót, and  try to see with your own eyes the mythical worm-like creature said to  live in the lake. • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Exploring The North East Of Iceland

      Mývatn geothermal area, Dettifoss, Goðafoss

On this day we will visit Stuðlagil Canyon view point. From  the viewpoint that juts over the canyon, you can see the blue-green  water and the basalt columns on the opposite side after just a 5-minute  walk down 239 metal steps.

However, it is important to note that accessing the river from this vantage point is not possible.

We will also visit Dettifoss, located in the north of Iceland.

Dettifoss  is one of the most powerful and breathtaking waterfalls in Europe. It’s  situated on the Jökulsá á Fjöllum river and is surrounded by rugged,  volcanic terrain. The waterfall is 100 meters wide and has a drop of 44  meters into the Jökulsárgljúfur canyon. The sheer force of the water  crashing down creates a deafening roar and a mist that can be seen from  miles away. Dettifoss is a must-see attraction for nature lovers and  adventure seekers visiting Iceland.

Lake Mývatn and it’s beautiful  surroundings is the designated destination for day five, you will  explore the geothermal region around the Lake. The area has many of the  things that make Iceland so unique, lava formations, mud pools and  remarkable geological features.

This day is packed with further  amazing sightseeing locations: Námaskarð pass, a high temperature  geothermal area where the earth boils and gurgles; Dimmuborgir, a field  of peculiar shaped lava pillars that rise from the earth; the majestic  Dettifoss waterfall from the Prometheus movie opening scene, with a 100  meters wide and 44 meters high fall into the Jökulsárgljúfur canyon, the  phenomenal waterfall Goðafoss, important in Christian Icelandic  history.

  • Day 7 North Iceland
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Today you will explore the town of Akureyri or take in some final extra adventures.

A  short drive from Akureyri is the village of Hauganes, where you´ll hop  on a whale watching boat to see Humpback whales and more gentle giants  found in the ocean. The small town of Hauganes has many  things to offer and we recommend you take a walk around the small town,  it has a charming harbor and a beautiful black sand beach overlooking  the ocean and the graceful tall mountains all around.

      Included: Hauganes Whale Watching Tour

  • Day 8 Snæfellsnes Peninsula
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Snæfellsnes Peninsula

      Ytri-Tunga , Djúpalónssandur, Kirkjufell

The magnificent Snæfellsnes Peninsula is the destination of the day,  it welcomes you with its world of cliffs, mountains capes, unique  wildlife and ancient fishing settlements.

The first stop is at  Gerðuberg, which is a cluster of hexagonal basalt columns. Next you will  journey to Ytri-Tunga where you will find a white sand beach, a pretty  rare sight in Iceland as you will know by now, most beaches in Iceland  are black. This white beach at Ytri-Tunga is not only interesting for  its white sand, but also for the fact that it is a seal colony, where  you can sometimes see seals lounge on the rocks.

Now you will be  heading to the beach of Djúpalónssandur, you have to walk through a maze  of remarkable free standing lava pillars to get to the beach, unlike  anything you have seen before. The mighty glacier of the West,  Snæfellsjökull glacier will be keeping an eye on you from a distance.  The magnificent lava cave Víðgelmir will be your next location, perfect  for exploring the volcanic history of Iceland.

Of course, you can  not leave the Snæfellsnes Peninsula without seeing the iconic mountain  Kirkjufell. This phenomenal mountain has proven to be one of Iceland’s  most popular places to visit, it has also been featured in Game of  Thrones as the “arrowhead mountain” located Beyond the Wall.

As  the Professor Otto Lidenbrock from Jules Verne’s novel, you can add an  extra this day when booking to venture into Víðgelmir lava cave. Do not  worry, you won’t reach the center of the Earth but you will follow a  path of lava that was created thousands years ago.

At the the end of the day you will end up back in the Borgarnes area for the night.

  • Day 9 Day 9: The West
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 9: The West

      Deildartunguhver, Barnafoss

On this day you will have a chance to further explore West-Iceland.  Your first stop will be Deildartunguhver, which is the most powerful hot  spring in Europe and you can see the hot steam and boiling water  bubbling from the ground. The surface around the hot spring has taken a  red color from the minerals and steam that surrounds it.

Your  next stop will be Reykholt, a location that holds a significant  historical heritage as it was the home of Snorri Sturluson. Snorri made a  big impact on Icelandic history as a poet, law-maker, scholar and is  undeniably a significant character of the Middle-Ages.

Not had  enough of waterfalls yet? Great, because next you will visit two very  different but equally special waterfalls. Hraunfossar is a series of  streams emerging through the dark lava fields, a very special and  beautiful sight. Barnafoss on the other hand is a brightly colored blue  stream that speeds through a narrow ravine.

You will then head  back to the capital of Reykjavik, where you’ll arrive around 4-6 pm  (depending on weather and road conditions).

Optional Extra Activity: Víðgelmir Lava Cave.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Blue Lagoon - Departure
