  • Day 1 Day 1: Embarkation In Kangerlussuaq
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 1: Embarkation In Kangerlussuaq

Individual arrival in Kangerlussuaq. The town is a former US Air Force base and Greenlandโ€™s most important airfield. With 190 kilometers of magnificent scenery, the Kangerlussuaq Fjord (Sรธndre Strรธmfjord) is one of the longest fjords in the world, with Kangerlussuaq at its end. You start your adventure by sailing through this dramatic fjord and crossing the Arctic Circle. Overnight stay on board.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Along The Coast Of Sisimiut - Glaciers, Islands And Fjords
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 2: Along The Coast Of Sisimiut - Glaciers, Islands And Fjords

Your ship traverses the complex coastal waterways of West Greenland, along glaciers, islands and side fjords against a towering mountain backdrop, which you also explore by Zodiac. Due to the West Greenland Current and the subarctic location, the water here is relatively warm. Sisimiut, with its characteristic colorful houses, is idyllically situated against the impressive backdrop of towering granite peaks. You are sure to meet Greenlandic kayakers, whose skill with the traditional boat will impress you. Overnight stay on board.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Ilulissat - Zodiac Tours Around Towering Icebergs
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3: Ilulissat - Zodiac Tours Around Towering Icebergs

Ilulissat literally means iceberg - a fitting name for this place at the mouth of the ice fjord of the same name, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is where the Sermeq-Kujalleq glacier flows into the fjord. Today you will explore a true natural wonder - the Ilulissat Icefjord, which washes gigantic icebergs into Disko Bay. The glaciers in this region move extremely fast and produce around 50 cubic kilometers of ice every year. If the ice conditions permit, you can go ashore in Ilulissat. Overnight stay on board.

  • Day 4 Day 4-5: West Greenland - Hiking In The Tundra
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4-5: West Greenland - Hiking In The Tundra

Powerful ocean currents flow along the coast, bringing cold, nutrient-rich water from the north, making the area a "super highway" for wildlife: various whales, seals and seabirds find plenty of food here. There are great hiking opportunities on land and, with a bit of luck, you may spot musk oxen and mountain hares. Finally, you leave Greenland and cross the Davis Strait towards Nunavut, the homeland of the Inuit, who have special rights to use their territory in northern Canada. Overnight stay on board.

  • Day 5 Day 6: A Day At Sea - Through The Davis Strait
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 6: A Day At Sea - Through The Davis Strait

As you sail on towards Nunavut, the expedition team will deepen your knowledge of the Arctic. The day at sea offers numerous opportunities to attend lectures, watch a documentary or relax on deck. Always have your binoculars ready for minke and humpback whale sightings as well as for the seabirds that accompany your passage over long distances. Overnight stay on board.

  • Day 6 Day 7: Mittimatalik (Pond Inlet), Nunavut/Canada
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 7: Mittimatalik (Pond Inlet), Nunavut/Canada

Mittimatalik is a bustling Arctic community in beautiful surroundings and a fascinating place to hike. A presentation of cultural customs in the community hall is a must. The elders and the youngest of Pond Inlet will show you some traditional Inuit games and competitions. The children have amazing athletic skills. Overnight stay on board.

  • Day 7 Day 8-10: Tallurutiup Imanga (Lancaster Sound) And Devon Island
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 8-10: Tallurutiup Imanga (Lancaster Sound) And Devon Island

Over the next three days you will explore Lancaster Sound, one of Nunavutโ€™s newest National Marine Sanctuaries. The waters in the area are extremely nutrient-rich and beluga, humpback and narwhal whales are often spotted. To the north is Devon Island, the largest uninhabited island in the world at over 50,000 square kilometers. The typical flattened mountains, glacial valleys and a considerable ice sheet give Devon Island its unique character. A visit to the old Royal Canadian Mountain Police outpost in Dundas Harbour is planned. Musk oxen and mountain hares are sometimes sighted in this area. Overnight stay on board.

  • Day 8 Day 11: Beechey Island
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 11: Beechey Island

In 1845, Sir John Franklin set off from England with HMS Erebus and HMS Terror to sail through the Northwest Passage. His crew spent the winter on Beechey Island, where three of his men died. Numerous search parties later used this island as a depot and base. The graves and ruins of Northumberland House are an impressive monument to polar history. Overnight stay on board.

  • Day 9 Day 12-13: Prince Regent Inlet
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 12-13: Prince Regent Inlet

You leave Beechey Island and keep an eye out for fin whales, sperm whales, sei whales, pilot whales, humpback whales, orcas, seals and seabirds. In addition to the abundant wildlife, you will delve deeper and deeper into the secrets and details of the exploration of the Northwest Passage and the role of the Hudsonโ€™s Bay Company in this. Overnight stay on board.

  • Day 10 Day 14-16: Kitikmeot Region
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 14-16: Kitikmeot Region

The Kitikmeot region was recently the talk of the town as the lost ships of the Franklin expedition were found in its waters. What a sensation! The region is the least populated in Nunavut, although there is an abundance of wildlife both in the sea and on land. A visit to Uqsuqtuuq (Gjoa Haven), home of the Guardians of Terror Bay, is planned. The name Gjoa Haven honors Roald Amundsen, who wintered in the bay for two years in search of the Northwest Passage. Amundsen, however, was the first European to cross the Northwest Passage thanks to the transfer of knowledge and the generosity of the Inuit. The community has an excellent cultural center and is known for its carvings and wall hangings. Overnight stay on board.

  • Day 11 Day 17: Coppermine- Disembarkation
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 17: Coppermine- Disembarkation

After successfully crossing the entire passage, you will reach Coppermine. The settlement is located at the mouth of the Coppermine River and is Nunavutโ€™s westernmost community. Cambridge Bay is an alternative disembarkation point and can be used depending on sea, ice and weather conditions. Today you leave the Ocean Endeavour, which has become your home from home over the past few days. Optional charter flight to Yellowknife. Individual journey home or onward journey.
