To acclimatize, you leave Johannesburg today at 6:30 am (overnight stay recommended) and drive to the Mpumalanga Province. By the time you reach the Panorama Route, you will be wide awake to enjoy the truly divine view at God’s Window. You will see rock formations such as the Three Rondavels and the gorge of the Blyde River Canyon, which is up to 1000 meters deep. Then continue to your lodge not far from the Kruger National Park. Overnight stay in a lodge. (Travel time approx. 8 hours, 620 km).

  • Day 2 Day 2: Safari In Kruger National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 2: Safari In Kruger National Park

Eye to eye with Africa’s wildlife very early in the morning - but you’re used to that by now. You go on a full-day safari in an open safari vehicle through the largest game reserve in South Africa, the Kruger National Park. This enormous game reserve is home to over 16 different ecosystems and has one of the largest animal populations in the world. Follow the trail of the "Big Five" - elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard - you are sure to stumble across one of the 13,000 or so pachyderms in the park. You return to your accommodation at sunset. The crowning glory of the day is your open-air dinner under the stars. A day could not end more beautifully. Overnight stay as on the previous day. (Route depending on sightings).

  • Day 3 Day 3: Safari In Kruger National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3: Safari In Kruger National Park

In the morning, lace up your shoes and head to the other side of the secure fence - into the heart of Africa’s wilderness on foot. After this adrenaline rush, the comfortable seat of your red safari truck beckons and off you go on another safari through the park, which was established in 1898. Lions dozing under an acacia tree, a zebra mother gazing tenderly at her young, the grunting of hippos - Africa is simply unforgettable. In the evening, it is worthwhile to observe the nocturnal animals on optional game drives. Overnight stay at the rest camp in Kruger National Park. (Travel time approx. 2 hours, 150 km plus game drives).

  • Day 4 Day 4: Eswatini: Hike In The Malolotja Nature Reserve
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Eswatini: Hike In The Malolotja Nature Reserve

Mswati III is the king of Africa’s last absolute monarchy in Swaziland, which he quickly had renamed eSwatini by decree. The kingdom is certainly attractive, as the untouched Malolotja Nature Reserve is an excellent place for hiking. The mountain landscape is known for its variety of different habitats, ranging from flat grassland to dense scrubland and wet forests. You explore the reserve on foot and enjoy the fantastic panorama. In the evening, relax not only your feet but also your eyes and concentrate fully on the blazing campfire. Overnight stay in chalets. (Travel time approx. 4 hours, 200 km).

The medicine man you visit at the arts and crafts market near the capital Mbabane may be able to cure minor aches and pains. Afterwards, you are back in South Africa and travel to the private Msinene Game Reserve. Here you move into your house tents in the beautiful Zululand Lodge - in the middle of nature. You explore the charming landscape around the lodge and the Msinene River on foot with a local guide. Track down the nyala antelopes and listen to the songs of the colorful birdlife. The rhinos graze peacefully in the nearby Hluhluwe Game Reserve, perfect for catching the best photo on safari. 2 nights in a lodge. (Travel time approx. 6 hours, 300 km).

  • Day 6 Day 7-8: Hike In The Drakensberg Mountains
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 7-8: Hike In The Drakensberg Mountains

The "wall of spears" stretches almost 1000 km from Lesotho in the south to the Kruger National Park in the north. It really does look like a wall when you leave the rolling hills of KwaZulu Natal and head inland. The Drakensberg is not a UNESCO World Heritage Site for nothing and is the highest mountain range in South Africa. On your way, you stop at a lonely country road in the middle of nowhere. Nelson Mandela was arrested here at this inconspicuous spot in 1962 and disappeared behind bars for 27 years. Today, the site is adorned with an emotional memorial and an informative visitor center. After so much history, you continue your journey into the Drakensberg. Your destination is the southern part, which could not be more spectacular. There is plenty of time to hike in the picturesque landscape and enjoy the spectacular views. 2 nights in the rest camp. (Day 7: driving time approx. 7 hours, 500 km).

  • Day 7 Day 9-10: Eastern Cape: Free Time On The Wild Coast And Endless Sandy Beaches
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 9-10: Eastern Cape: Free Time On The Wild Coast And Endless Sandy Beaches

The wild coast of the Eastern Cape lives up to its name and you are invited to discover bays with rugged cliffs, lush green hilly landscapes and miles of sandy beaches. The wild coast, the section between East London and Port Edward, is one of the most beautiful and pristine coasts in South Africa. You have earned your free day and can use it to meet the locals or relax on the beach. 2 nights in a lodge. (Travel time approx. 8-9 hours, 600 km).

    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 11: Safari In Addo Elephant National Park

Find out what makes the Addo elephants so crazy about citrus fruits, why there were only eleven of them left in 1931 and what the Big Seven are all about on a safari in the Addo Elephant National Park. Today, more than 600 elephants live in the park again - alongside white rhinos, Cape buffalo, lions, leopards and more than 400 bird species. Overnight stay at Addo Restcamp in a chalet or permanent house tent. (Travel time approx. 4-5 hours, 300 km plus game drives).

    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 12-13: Garden Route: Plettenberg Bay - Tsitsikamma National Park

Between George and Knysna, three rivers flow from the Outenique Mountains towards the coast and seven gorges have to be crossed. No problem for you in a safari truck, but imagine the ordeal in a bullock cart. Today, however, you only have eyes for the beauty of the Garden Route. You spend two days in Plettenberg Bay, picturesquely situated on the Indian Ocean. An excursion takes you to the mouth of the Storms River in the Tsitsikamma National Park, where you hike along the rocky coastal path. The national park encompasses 80 km of spectacular landscapes in South Africa’s last primeval forest. In Plettenberg Bay, you can take a boat trip on day 13 (optional). • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 14: Hermanus - Capital Of The Whales

Whale capital of the world - what sounds so pompous, actually is. The former spa town has now been spruced up as a pretty little tourist town and what was once intended as a marketing stunt by the port administration is now world-famous: the whale caller. From June to November, the giants of the sea come here to mate and calve in the shallow waters. During the whale season you take a walk along the beautiful coastline and in the summer months you visit the Fernkloof Nature Reserve, which is simply heavenly with its fynbos vegetation and picturesque views. Overnight stay at the hotel. (Travel time approx. 6-7 hours, 450 km).

  • Day 11 Day 15-16: Stellenbosch - Cape Town
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 15-16: Stellenbosch - Cape Town

When Jan von Riebeeck planted the first grapes and pressed them into wine in 1659, he could not have imagined the boom he would trigger. Today, the wine country is world-famous and a Mecca for connoisseurs. Perhaps for you too? There is enough time for a wine tasting (optional) and wine cellar tour in the famous Stellenbosch wine-growing region. Then it’s off to the oldest settlement in South Africa, Cape Town. Due to the prime location of your hotel, it is worth making a detour to the V&A Waterfront, the tourist district in Cape Town. How about a milking session in front of the four Nobel Prize winners Albert John Luthuli, Desmond Tutu, Frederik Willem de Klerk and Nelson Mandela? A visit to Robben Island (optional) in the footsteps of Mandela is an unforgettable and impressive experience. On day 16, discover the Cape of Good Hope. Climb the world-famous viewpoint and let the stormy wind of the Cape blow around your nose. After this unique experience, head to Hout Bay, a pretty little harbor town. Drive along the cliffs via the scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive to Simon’s Town, where Boulders Beach is located. But beware: you are not alone on the beach, but share it with numerous penguins. 2 nights in a hotel. (Travel time approx. 2 hours each, 150 km).

  • Day 12 Day 17: Departure
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 17: Departure

In the morning, head to the foot of the plateau, as Table Mountain is your destination. Climb it on foot or by cable car (optional) for a wonderful view over Table Bay and Robben Island - weather permitting. Use the free afternoon for last selfies at the Waterfront or for a stroll through Greenmarket Square. The trip officially ends in the late afternoon at the hotel.
