No longer forbidden to enter and no longer a city, this site is steeped in history, as it is the former home to an ancient line of Chinese emperors. Youโ€™ll have time to take a look around and learn all about the ancient and modern histories that have taken place between its walls. After lunch, explore the World Heritage-listed Summer Palace and return to your hotel. Here youโ€™re free to enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

En route back to Beijing, stop at a cloisonnรฉ factory and enjoy a guided tour, learning about Chinese cloisonnรฉ.

      This morning enjoy breakfast at your hotel. After, youโ€™ll visit the Temple of Heaven, an imperial complex of religious buildings founded in the first half of the 15th century. Historically used as a place for emperors to worship and make sacrifices for heaven and earth, the complex, set in a beautiful and vast garden, is now a hub for locals and travellers alike to understand the regionโ€™s history. Afterwards, enjoy an Insider Experience board as you travel to Xiโ€™an. On arrival, youโ€™ll be transferred to your hotel.

      Today will be spent exploring Shibaozhai, an isolated peak protruding from the northern bank of the Yangtze River.
