Worried to book your trip because of your coronavirus? With our extra flexibility and our protective measures, your trip is safe. 1. Small group guarantee Between 01.06. to 30.11.2020 we guarantee maximum 9 participants per group in all our activities. That means there will be maximum 8 travellers and the guide. We also guarantee this small group size on tours provided solely by our company. If a tour includes subcontracted services, such as reindeer and husky farms, the small group is guaranteed only for the transfers, not on location, e.g. in a husky or reindeer farm. 2. Hygiene measures All our equipment has been and is being continuously disinfected. To increase your safety, we will provide you disposable gloves for free. Hand disinfectant is always available in our offices and our guides will carry one with them also during the tours for their and your use.

6 nights accommodation are included: - 1 night in a sleeper train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi. Travelling overnight in a comfortable night-train make you arrive relaxed at your destination whilst making you gain valuable daytime on your adventure. (can be upgraded to sleeping coach) - 4 Nights in Hotel Aakenus or similar in Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland - 1 Night in Holiday Club Saariselkä or similar

  • Day 1 Helsinki Guided Sightseeing Tour

      Helsinki Cathedral / Uspenski Cathedral / Kauppatori Market / Temppeliaukio Church / Sibelius-park / Train to Rovaniemi 

      Beginning in the capital city of Finland – Helsinki. Explore the city’s most prominent cathedrals: The Helsinki Cathedral and Uspenski Cathedral. Constructed in the 1800’s, the cathedrals were built while Finland was a part of Russia. Now, the cathedrals are landmarks of Helsinki. Next, we wander the outdoor Kauppatori Market. Filled with everything from local produce to souvenirs, Kauppatori creates a vibrant atmosphere within the city. The last stop in our city tour is the Sibelius Park. In the heart sits a monument to Sibelius: a renowned Finnish composer accredited with helping Finland develop a national identity. The park is on the waterfront of a large bay with one of the best cafés in Helsinki nearby. 

      Please, note: This is a walking tour, if you have luggage we recommend you to store it, for example at the train station.

      In the evening, take the famous Santa’s Express train to Rovaniemi. The Finnish double-decker night train is great and ecologic way of transportation from Helsinki to Lapland in the north. See the beauty of Finland from the comfortable compartments of this train and wake up at the Arctic Circle the next morning.

      Rovaniemi is the capital of Christmas spirit and the hometown of Santa Claus. Fulfill your childhood dreams of meeting the real Santa Claus in his Santa Claus village! Located on the Arctic Circle, you will also receive a certificate for crossing the into the Arctic Circle and will become a true Arctic trekker!

      Lakeside sauna experience / Midnight Sun Tour 

      Once well-fed, head to the lakeside sauna to view the midnight sun. We all deserve a wonderful vacation in the paradise! For your authentic Finnish experience, sit back in the lakeside wooden sauna with the mild steam warming you up. Sauna is the most Finnish experience you may find when visiting the country. In Lapland, it is nearly mandatory to try it in the most traditional way. Thus, in this programme, we will instruct you about the do’s and don’ts for this relaxing time, including the use of the "vihta" (a birch whisk used to massage). 


      We hope you are brave enough to jump into the lake, as the waters of the Arctic region are cold even in the summer. Anyhow, you will have the midnight sun to warm you, as well as some grilled sausages and blue blueberry tea around the fire.

      Visit reindeer farm / Feeding reindeer 

      Rovaniemi is one of the largest cities in Europe, with most of the city being forestland. Within the forestland live many different animals and critters; most importantly, the reindeer. The reindeer roam freely during the winter, and they return to their farms during the summer. The tourists visit the reindeer farms to meet and feed these animals.

  • Day 5 Amethyst Mine And Gold Panning Experience

      Amethyst Mine And Gold Panning Experience

      Visit Luosto / Amethyst mine / Luosto hiking / Saariselkä / Gold Panning experience / Saariselkä top hill midnight sun view 

      The private car will take you to Luosto from your hotel, a city located 115 km away from Rovaniemi. The area contains beautiful forests and nature, where you can indulge yourself in the tranquillity of the Arctic circle. The 20 million years old amethyst mine is located inside the ancient mountains. Climbing up the mountain you will meet professionals who will tell you the interesting history of the Amethyst Mine. With the support of them, use the tools to dig out your own piece of amethyst, which you can take with you for a small souvenir. Afterwards, enjoy the beautiful landscape of this mountain offered together with a small campfire barbecue. The mining continues with the summer gold rush! Our guides know the best locations for finding gold and will take you there in Saariselkä. To extract the gold, you will be panning across deposits and trying your luck as a gold miner.

  • Day 6 Trip To Inari, Visit Of The Sami Village

      Visit Inari / Sami Siida museum / free time / Back to Rovaniemi 

      Our last stop will be the town of Inari, the centre of Sami culture. Sami people are the indigenous people of Lapland, and there is the Sami Siida Museum, which introduced in depth of the unique Sami culture. After visiting the museum, you will have a free time to explore the peaceful village. The surrounding area has over 100 named hills, and the city has 4 official languages spoken by different Sámi groups. At the end of the day, we will return to Rovaniemi.

  • Day 7 Scenic Train Ride Back To Helsinki

      Scenic Train Ride Back To Helsinki

      Breakfast and check-out from your hotel.  Scenic train ride crossing Finland’s heartland, characterised by its countless lakes and magnificent forests. Arrival in Helsinki, ending point of this tour.
