  • Day 1 Day 1: Guilin - Longsheng: Longji Rice Terrace (Lunch)

      Day 1: Guilin - Longsheng: Longji Rice Terrace (Lunch)

      This is a join-in bus tour so you will share the tour with other English-speaking travelers. There will be about 20-40 people in a bus.

      Expect pickup between 7:40am and 8:30am depending on your hotelโ€™s location. The exact pick up time will be informed the night before and the guide will contact you via hotel reception. 

      Note: 1) If your hotel is on a small street where our vehicle canโ€™t access, you will need to walk out to the main street; 2) If your hotel is outside of the city center, supplement charge will be required for hotel pick up and drop off.

      Itโ€™s about a 2.5 hours drive to the Longji Scenic Area (longer time in holiday season). 

      Arriving at the ticketing booth around 11am, you will take local shuttle bus to visit Huangluo Yao Village. Stroll among the local wooden houses and enjoy a performance that shows you how the Yao women brush, braid, and coil their spectacularly long hair in a traditional and beautiful way.

      Then continue your journey to Dazhai village (Pingโ€™an Village and Guzhuang Village are alternatives in special occasions). You can choose to hike for about 1-2 hours or take a cable car (at own expense), where the most dramatic rice terrace views are to be found. This is a reasonably challenging hiking and moderate fitness is required.

      Savor stunning views of this crafted agricultural landscape. Depending on the time of year, you may see layers of reflecting watery rice fields, lush green shoots, or a whole swathe of golden rice. In winter, the terraces might even be covered with snow.

      The time to return is about 4pm and you will be dropped back to your hotel around 6.30pm. Please kindly note that the traffic can be extremely bad during the holiday seasons, e.g. Mid-Autumn Festival , Chinese National Day holiday and Chinese New Year.

      Day 2: Guilin: City Tour By Public Transport (Breakfast & Lunch)

      After breakfast, our guide will meet you at the hotel lobby. Today there is no coach provided; all transportation is by public. Firstly, you will visit the Reed Flute Cave, which is impressive. The coloured lights make it romantic and dramatic. Listening to the beautiful stories about every stalactite and stalagmite, you will be amazed by how capable Mother Nature is. And then we go to Lu Jia Village, which gathers the architectural elements of traditional folk dwellings in northern guangxi and mainly run restaurants. You can have lunch there; it is famous for Tofu feast.

      The tour is followed by a photo stop at Elephant Trunk Hill, the landmark of Guilin city. Next you will visit Fubo Hill, standing magnificently on the side of the river. At last, you can stroll around East and West Lane, which is the first multi-functional and characteristic commercial street. Our guide will escort you back to hotel after tour ends.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Guilin - Yangshuo: A Boat Trip Along Li River (Breakfast & Lunch)

      Day 3: Guilin - Yangshuo: A Boat Trip Along Li River (Breakfast & Lunch)

      This is a join-in bus tour so you will share the tour with other travelers. There will be about 20-40 people in a bus. If there are Chinese passengers, the tour guide will speak both Chinese and English. If there are only English-speaking ones, the guide will speak English only.

      7:30 to 8:10am, You will be picked up from your downtown hotel in Guilin with fellow visitors. The exact pick up time will be informed the night before and the guide will contact you via hotel reception.

      Note: 1) If your hotel is on a small street where our vehicle canโ€™t access, you will need to walk out to the main street; 2) If your hotel is outside of the city center, supplement charge will be required for hotel pick up and drop off.

      It is an approximately 45 minutes ride to Mopanshan Pier where you will board the boat. The check-in process will take about 10 minutes up to 30 minutes in peak season, when your passport is required. Seats in the boat are pre-assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis at time of your booking for this tour. The cruise boat sails downstream and will arrive in Yangshuo at 1:30-2:00pm.

      While sitting in the comfortable cabin of your cruise boat, you will enjoy classic watercolor painting like scenery of lush bamboo forests, rolling Karst hills, and steep cliffs along Li River banks as well as the authentic Chinese countryside filled with rice fields, farmhouses, water buffaloes, fishing boats, cormorants, mountain goats, and school children on local ferry.

      A simple lunch will be served on-board. You may choose to try some fresh catches from the river at your own expense. 

      Upon arriving in Yangshuo in the afternoon, you will have 30-50 minutes free time to explore the West Street, which is the largest souvenir market in China. You can choose to join in our optional tours to Shiwai Taoyuan (Shangri-La Park) or Silver Cave. The cost for the optional tours are not included and will be paid to your guide in cash. If you choose not to take the optional tours, you need to wait for the bus to return to Guilin. Your guide will advice you the detailed meeting point and time. As an alternative, you can take the local public bus (RMB 30 per person) at Yangshuo Bus Station to Guilin Bus Station and then take a taxi to your hotel if you prefer to go back Guilin earlier. The bus and taxi fee will be on your own expense. 

      At around 6:00pm, you will be transferred back to Guilin south train station via coach service for about 1.5 hours. The exact returning time is subject to change based on traffic conditions. 

      If you will stay in Yangshuo overnight, please bring your luggage with you when you leave your hotel in the morning. You will need to bring the luggage with you onto the boat. Due to the traffic control in Yangshuo, our bus canโ€™t take you to your hotel. If your hotel in Yangshuo is located in the town, you need to walk or pay RMB15 for shuttle car to your hotel. Otherwise, please contact your hotel for instruction that how to get there.
