  • Day 1 Day 1: Welcome To Gdansk!

      Day 1: Welcome To Gdansk!

      You will fly to Gdansk. You will be met at the airport and escorted to the hotel. In the evening you will meet your fellow travelers and the tour guide at an information session. To start your trip, toast your time together with the famous Gdansk "Goldwasser", a spiced liqueur with small gold leaf plates (included). 3 nights in Gdansk.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Hela Peninsula

      Day 2: Hela Peninsula

      After breakfast, take a water streetcar from Gdansk to the Baltic peninsula of Hela (from September, trips to Hela are by bus). Visit the pretty town of Hela (Hel) and let your guide show you around the town with its numerous old fishermen’s cottages and half-timbered houses. In the local Museum of Fishing, located in a former Gothic brick church, you will learn exciting facts about the life and craft of Baltic fishermen. Afterwards, head to the fokarium. The WWF breeding station for the grey seals native to the Baltic Sea is entirely dedicated to preserving the local population of these large marine predators. (F)

      Day 3: Old Hanseatic City Of Gdansk

      Today your tour guide will take you through the history and culture of one of the oldest cities in Poland. Experience, among other things, the imposing Langgasser Gate, the old town hall and St. Mary’s Church, the largest church in Poland. During your sightseeing tour you will also visit an amber gallery and experience how raw amber is finely handcrafted into a small work of art by grinding and polishing. In the afternoon you have time to discover the impressive Hanseatic city individually. Your tour guide will of course have some tips on how to spend your free time. (F)

  • Day 4 Day 4: History And Hanseatic Tradition

      Day 4: History And Hanseatic Tradition

      Today you will leave Gdansk and head east. You will be fascinated by Frauenburg (Frombork), where you will gain insight into the history of the city and visit the mighty cathedral. Afterwards you will visit the former Hanseatic city of Elblag, once the second most important port in East Prussia. In the afternoon it’s "ship ahoy"! You will board a canal boat and explore the Oberländer Canal, built in 1860, the longest inland waterway in Europe. Enjoy the panoramic trip and let your eyes roam through the natural paradise, which is home to many species of animals. The canal overcomes a height difference of about 99 meters along its entire route and connects various towns and lakes. In the evening you will reach your hotel in Liebemühl (Milomlyn), where you will spend the following night. (B/A)

      Day 5: Idyllic Masuria

      Discover the cultural highlights between the countless, blue shimmering lakes. Your way leads you first to the baroque pilgrimage church Heiligelinde (Swieta Lipka). There you will learn all about the history of the place and its beautiful church and can listen to a melodious organ concert. Near Rastenburg (Ketrzyn), the Wolf’s Lair Memorial commemorates the resistance of Officer Stauffenberg during World War II. After a morning steeped in history, spend lunch in Lötzen (Gizycko) at the charming little harbor. In the afternoon we recommend a relaxing boat trip in the unique landscape (optional, bookable on site, approx. 16 € p.p.). Unwind and enjoy the heavenly tranquility along the charming waterways. 2 nights in Masuria. (B/A)

  • Day 6 Day 6: Land Of 1000 Lakes

      Day 6: Land Of 1000 Lakes

      Today a mixture of culture and nature awaits you. During a city tour, the town of Nikolaiken (Mikolajki) will enchant you with its maritime charm. You can take a rest in the inn "Oberza pod Psem". There, the owners of the house invite you to a little chat over coffee and homemade cake. The two passionate innkeepers also run a small local museum out of their love for art and nature, which you can visit afterwards. Afterwards you go on a relaxing hike through the untouched nature of the Johannisburg Heath, one of the largest closed forest areas in the whole of Poland (easy, 8 km, walking time: approx. 2 hours, +/-50 meters altitude difference). Enjoy the view over reflecting water surfaces between lush vegetation and look out for the many animals living there. With a little luck, you may see storks, wild horses or even lynx and moose. Afterwards you will drive to Eckertsdorf (Wojnowo), where you will visit a monastery of the Orthodox Old Believers. With a little luck, you will have the opportunity to talk to one of the nuns living there. A punt boat ride through the idyllic Krutynia River will complete the day. (B/A)

      On your last day of travel in Poland, you will drive back towards Gdansk. On the way, you will stop at one of the largest Gothic brick buildings of the Middle Ages: Marienburg (Malbork), one of the most powerful castle complexes of the Teutonic Knights in Europe. Since December 7, 1997, the entire Mariánské Lázn? with the architecturally very different areas of the outer castle, middle castle and upper castle has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After this short journey through time, you will end your impressive week in northern Poland at the farewell dinner in the Old Town of Gdansk. 1 night in Gdansk. (B/A)
