Day 1: Salento

Welcome to the Coffee Zone!

Arrive at any time to be collected from the airport and be taken directly to your Salento Hotel.

You'll then have the remainder of the day free to relax and enjoy this wonderful setting.

Day 2: Santa Rosa Hot Springs

Stop At: Santa Rosa de Cabal, Santa Rosa de Cabal, Risaralda Department
Today you will take a trip to the magical location of the Thermal Hot-Springs of Santa Rosa. Surrounded by a tropical jungle you’ll walk through and soak up the mineral-rich waters in this amazing setting. You’ll wander through these beautiful grounds and explore the unbelievable waterfall.

Stop At: Mirador Colina Iluminada, Filandia Colombia
On your return, you’ll make a bit of a detour and enjoy the amazingly colorful town of Filandia. If you thought Salento was an exceptionally colorful town with wonderful architecture, you will absolutely love this place and it’s amazing views!

Day 3: Cocora Valley

Stop At: Valle del Cocora, Salento Colombia
This morning you’ll start your day with some beautiful views from the Salento Mirador (Lookout), and a look down into the valley you will soon venture through.

Next, you’ll take a trip into the lush Cocora Valley and a guided tour of the Wax Palm Forest. This valley is spectacular by itself, but when combined with the forest filled with the tallest wax palms in the world, it becomes an almost spiritual experience. You’ll get to spend a few hours walking through this peaceful zone with more beautiful views in every direction.

Stop At: Cocora, Cocora, Quindio Department
After you’ve stopped for a wonderful lunch you’ll continue onto a sensational coffee tour. This is one of the best coffee tours in Colombia and so very unique. The reason being the philosophy of this single lady owner. She has created a Finca that is completely pesticide and machinery free. Every part of the entire process is done by hand and with this, you’ll discover the traditional methods of growing the perfect coffee bean. You’ll also get to explore this wonderful Finca and find so much more than just coffee is grown here, such as a large variety of fruits as well. You’ll learn the complete process from the seed to the cup, including handpicking a few beans yourself.

Day 4: Nature Walk and Bird Watching

Stop At: Lake Otun, Via al Parque Nacional Los Nevados, Pereira Colombia
oday you’ll have the opportunity to stroll through a protected area of Andean forest. Located next to the Otún River this sanctuary safeguards the great biodiversity of Andean species.

On your tour, you will learn from your ecological tour guide the keys to diversification in fauna and flora. You’ll listen to the songs of the many birds and search for them in the vegetation. You’ll fully appreciate how Colombia has the greatest variety of bird species in the world (in this area there are over 330 species).

While you are searching for singing birds, be sure to keep a careful eye out towards the treetops, as a family of red howler monkeys calls this sanctuary home, and more than likely they’ll be keeping an eye on you from a distance.

Day 5: Free Day to Explore More / Airport drop-off

Stop At: Avenida 30 de Agosto, Av. 30 de Agosto, Pereira, Risaralda, Colombia
Your transport will be waiting to take you to the airport at any time for the next part of your Colombian adventure, or if you have arranged for another night or more accommodation to explore more of the Zona Cafetera region (highly recommended and can be organised with us after booking), your transport will be waiting for another day.
