BAY OF ISLANDS DAY CRUISES PAIHIA ISLAND HOPPER DAY CRUISE (OCTOBER TO APRIL ONLY) ($185) Join the Island Hopper Cruise for a magical day sailing around the Bay of Islands on a luxury 33ft catamaran. With over 140 islands to explore, there will be plenty to see as you relax in comfy bean bags as you enjoy the sunshine. On this Bay of Islands scenic cruise youโ€™ll visit a number of islands with a chance to swim, snorkel, paddleboard or just chill on the golden sand. Islands including Urupukapuka, Motuarahia, Moturua, Waewaetoria are among the crewโ€™s favourites for your 2 hour stop over. This 6 hour experience includes morning coffee, a delicious packed picnic lunch and an afternoon refreshing cold drink on the return sail. Also included is a visit to Project Island Song wildlife sanctuary where youโ€™ll encounter endangered birds and learn about their thriving ecosystem. Please bring: hat, sunglasses, sunblock, jacket, swimwear, towel, walking shoes, drinking water. Please note: this activity is only available from October to May (they are closed from 31 May to 30 September each year). HOLE IN THE ROCK CRUISE PAIHIA $150 4.5 HOUR BAY OF ISLANDS CRUISE ($150) Enjoy a three-hour Bay of Islands cruise in search of dolphins and other marine life as you journey to the end of the Cape Brett Peninsula and the famous Hole in the Rock on Motukokako Island. As the most-popular dolphin cruise in the Bay of Islands, the purpose-built catamaran is licensed by DOC (the Department of Conservation) for dolphin viewing and the crew have years of experience locating dolphins in these waters. Dolphin Seeker has indoor and outdoor seating available, and the largest outdoor viewing decks in the Bay of Islands. According to Mฤori legend, warriors paddled through the Hole in the Rock in their canoes before leaving for battle. Drops of water from the cave roof were considered a good omen. If conditions permit, your captain will guide the boat through the Hole in the Rockโ€ฆ and if you get dripped on, consider yourself lucky! Please bring: a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and your camera.       Welcome to Tฤmaki Makaurau / Auckland! Settle into your accommodation and start exploring our wonderful city. We recommend checking out the Auckland Sky Tower, this is the tallest building in New Zealand. If you are feeling extra daring you can jump off the Sky Tower, attached to a harness of course! Or how about checking out the Auckland War Memorial Museum, located in the middle of the beautiful Auckland Domain. Be ready for the 6pm pre-tour meeting at your accommodation where you will get to know your Tour Manager and be introduced to your new roadtrip friends. Our first stop brings us to the mesmerising Whangarei Falls, a 26m high cascading waterfall. Continuing our drive, we make our way to the enchanting Matapouri Beach. Nestled along the coastline, this pristine beach offers a serene escape. Feel the golden sand beneath your feet and enjoy the soothing sounds of the ocean. It's a perfect spot to relax, unwind, and appreciate the tranquil surroundings. In the evening, we arrive at the picturesque Tutukaka, a coastal gem known for its breathtaking views and was rated as one of the top coastal destinations on the planet by National Geographic Traveller.       Following a hearty breakfast, we set sail on a full-day cruise to the Poor Knights Islands that promises to be nothing short of extraordinary. As a total Marine Reserve, the Islands boast 11-million-year-old volcanic origins, featuring spectacular drop-offs, walls, caves, arches, and tunnels both above and below water. The rich biodiversity, including unique plant, animal, and fish life, makes this destination truly special. Prepare for a day filled with sightseeing, kayaking, cave explorations, snorkelling, swimming, sea mammal-spotting, and a delightful immersion in the fascinating history and facts of the islands. The highlight of the day is the visit to the world's largest sea cave, Rikoriko Cave, accessible by boat. Your day finishes with a scenic drive to Paihia, where you will spend the next day.       Today, discover the Bay of Islandsโ€™ important role in New Zealandโ€™s history with a trip to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. We love bringing you here, itโ€™s a truly unforgettable insight into Mฤori culture. The 35-metre carved waka (ceremonial war canoe), the worldโ€™s biggest, is a must-see. After lunch we say goodbye to the Bay. We head back to Auckland via Northlandโ€™s east coast, which boasts stunning beaches and coastal walks. Make sure to look out your window while reminiscing over your incredible Bay of Islands holiday.
