All four days of the tour will include one of our knowledgable and entertaining driver-guides, as they share their passion for Scotland with you.

Meals

Breakfast at your accommodation is included each morning, this may be a continental breakfast, full Scottish Breakfast or a combination of both.

Transport

The tour will include four days of travel in one of our modern, comfortable touring vehicles, as well as a ferry journey between the Isle of Skye and Mallaig, and a journey on the Jacobite Steam Train. If West Coast Railways is able to operate the afternoon Jacobite Steam Train, this will be an included experience. If not, we will still visit the incredible Glenfinnan Viaduct and Monument and some of the incredible scenery in the surrounding area. PLEASE NOTE JACOBITE STEAM TRAIN IS NOT CONFIRMED FOR 2025.

Accommodation

A total of three nights of accommodation is included, two nights on the Isle of Skye, and one night in Fort William. Accommodation is available in single occupancy rooms, double rooms or twin rooms in quality Bed & Breakfasts, and all rooms include a private bathroom and a breakfast.

  • Day 1 Edinburgh To Isle Of Skye - Our Adventure Begins

      Edinburgh To Isle Of Skye - Our Adventure Begins

      Departing from Scotlandโ€™s capital city Edinburgh, weโ€™ll begin our journey north, stopping to see the impressive Forth Railway Bridge. We will then continue on to the quaint Victorian town of Pitlochry, where youโ€™ll have time to explore and grab a morning snack or pick up a picnic lunch for later. Continuing through the Cairngorms National Park weโ€™ll make our way to Fort Augustus for lunch. This pretty village at the south end of Loch Ness, is a fanstatic place to explore. You can take a stroll to the waters edge and look out for "Nessie" or explore the short stretch of the Caledonian Canal. Next we will head through Glen Shiel to Eilean Donan Castle (admission extra), one of Scotlandโ€™s most beautiful castle, with an incredble setting on Loch Duich, beneath the mountains of Kintail. We will spend some time to take in the views, before crossing the bridge to Skye, which will be the overnight base for your first two nights on tour. 


  • Day 2 Discovering Skye

      We have a full day discovering the "Misty Isle". To the far north and the outstanding Trotternish Peninsula, The Kilt Rock and The Old Man of Storr. Your experienced and knowledgeable guide will ensure you get the most out of your day and enjoy sights such as the craggy Cuillin Mountains. Portree is your lunch stop, where you can enjoy delicious fish and chips next to the harbour โ€“ just watch out for the seagulls!  Still lots to discover this afternoon on this magical island.


  • Day 3 Isle Of Skye To Fort William - Ferries And A Steam Train

      Isle Of Skye To Fort William - Ferries And A Steam Train

      This morning we will continue to explore Skye, taking in some highlights in the south of the island. Our jourrney take us past the ruined Armadale Castle. We will then join a ferry from Armadale to Mallaig. There may also be an opportunity to join a Wildlife Cruise here (admission extra). Next we will join the Jacobite Steam Train (or Hogwarts Express!) and enjoy the stunning 2-hour train trip (this journey is subject to operations of the Jacobite Steam Train). The train will slow as we cross the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, seen in the Harry Potter film, should for any reason the Jacobite Steam Train not be available we will instead follow the journey by road, with stop to admire the incredible views.


  • Day 4 Fort William To Edinburgh - Stunning Scenery As We Travel Homeward

      Fort William To Edinburgh - Stunning Scenery As We Travel Homeward

      After a restful night in Fort William we will start our journey south towards the impressive Glen Coe. Weโ€™ll have ample time to take in this stunning glen and hear of itโ€™s dramatic history. We will then continue our drive through Rannoch Moor, one of the last really wild places in Scotland. If you want to experience the beauty of the Scottish Moor, this is the place! We will stop for lunch in Callander, situated on the River Teith this is where weโ€™ll say goodbye to the Highlands and continue into the lowlands. We will stop to see the impressive, Kelpies, 30-meter-high horse head sculptures before returning to Edinburgh.
