      During the transfer to Toraja you will stop at Ramang-Ramang where you ride a small boat on the Pute River and enjoy panoramic view of Karst stone. Take a short walk around the paddy fields and visit local village. Enroute you will have a lunch stop at Pare-Pare and a coffee stop at Puncak Lakawang to sample the local coffee while enjoy the spectacular landscape view.

      Tau-Tau refers to the wooden effigies or statues found in the region of Tana Toraja, which is located near Makassar in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Tana Toraja is known for its unique funeral traditions and elaborate ceremonies, and the Tau-Tau statues play a significant role in these rituals.

      The Tau-Tau statues are carved from wood and represent deceased ancestors. They are usually placed in special galleries or carved into the sides of cliffs in burial sites called "lakkian." These statues are dressed in traditional clothing and are often adorned with personal items or accessories that symbolize the deceased individualโ€™s status, occupation, or achievements during their lifetime.

      Then proceed to Kete Kesu to see Tongkonan, a traditional Torajan house. The tongkohan is a unique architectural structure that holds great significance in the Minahasan community. It typically features a large elevated floor made of wood, supported by stilts or pillars. The house itself is often constructed using natural materials such as wood and bamboo. The roof is typically made of thatch or palm leaves.

      Tongkohan houses serve as a gathering place for family members and are designed to accommodate multiple generations. They often have large communal areas for family activities and celebrations. The stilts or pillars elevate the house off the ground, providing protection against flooding and allowing ventilation underneath the structure.

      Loโ€™Ko Mata is a huge square-shape rock that locals use as burial place. This place has been a storage place for the corpses of the Toraja people since ancient times. The customs of the Toraja people are indeed unique. Usually the corpse is always buried. But when you visit there you will find a Loko Mata stone grave filled with many corpses. There were many holes in the boulder, each of which contained more than one corpse. The bodies in one hole still have family ties.

      Batutumonga is a village located in the Toraja region of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. It is situated high in the mountains, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and rice terraces. Batutumonga is known for its cool climate, beautiful landscapes, and traditional Toraja architecture.

      Palawa is the oldest traditional village in Toraja, South Sulawesi, that is also the perfect place to explore the culture of the Torajans, an ethnic group indigenous in the region. There, visitors can see an example of well preserved rural community with old characteristic Torajan houses called Tongkonan. These houses stand high on wooden piles with a layered split-bamboo roof in a sweeping curved arc shape, and they are decorated with buffalo horns and motifs as a sign of the ownersโ€™ social status and wealth. Palawa village is also renowned for their colorful wood carvings on the house exterior walls and elaborate funeral rites.
