Day 1: Tour of the Ulaanbaatar City

Stop At: Ulaanbaatar, Ulaanbaatar
Meet your English-speaking local guide at 9.00 in the morning in the hotel lobby and start the city tour. The city tour of Ulaanbaatar takes you through some of the principal sights of this unique city. You visit the Gandan Monastery, housing a 26-meter-high gilded statue of the Buddha. Short visit to Ger district near Gandan where you will see part of rural lifestyle. Your tour also takes you to the Genghis Khan monument on the square and the National Museum, which has a number of fascinating displays of traditional Mongolian clothing and weaponry, as well as exhibits charting the course of Chinggis Khan's empire-building. Welcome lunch in a Mongolian restaurant. In the afternoon we visit Narantuul black market, the biggest open-air market of Mongolia. Proceed to Zaisan Memorial located on a pretty hill south of the city for a panoramic view of the nomadic capital and finally the visit to Cashmere factory where you will see one of the main industrial products from its very beginning of raw wool producing to the soft cashmere product. Transfer to the hotel by 6 pm. Free time for dinner (independent dinner).

Day 2: Ulaanbaatar - Gun Galuut Nature reserve via Genghis Khan Statue

Stop At: Genghis Khan Statue Complex, Tsonjin Boldog, Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
Meet at the hotel lobby at 9 am and we start our Mongolia discovery tour. Weโ€™ll visit to Gun Galuut Nature Reserve with 3-4-hour drive with a visit to Giant Chinggis Khanโ€™s monument on the way.

Arrive at Gun Galuut and set our tents at a scenic spot in the Kherlen river valley. Afternoon, visit to nomadic family to get an orientation of their lifestyle. Short hiking to the badland for to spot endangered White Napped Crane (only 3000 left in the world). Return to the campsite, enjoy dinner cooked by tour chief and overnight at tent.

Day 3: Day in Gun-Galuut Nature reserve

Stop At: Galuut bag Gun-Galuut Nature Reserve Mongolia
Gun-Galuut is a home to many endangered species including the Argali wild mountain sheep and many more. In the morning, we hike through the Baits Mountain or optional horse ride to try viewing Argali wild sheep. Lunch at our new campsite, south of Baits Mountain. Free time for leisure- optional hiking, fishing etc. In the evening, enjoy cooking session from our chief and learn to make Mongolian feast for dinner. Overnight at tent.

Day 4: Gun Galuut Nature reserve- Ikh Gazaryn Chuluu Mountain

Stop At: Ikh Gazriin Chuluu Nature Reserve, Mandalgovi Mongolia
Breakfast at 7 am and we continue our travel to Gobi Desert. Our todayโ€™s destination is Ikh Gazaryn Chuluu, a picturesque and legendary granite mountain with a picnic lunch along the way. Arrive at Ikh Gazaryn Chuluu Mountain in the afternoon and transfer to the tourist ger camp where you stay overnight today.

Discover the area and take a tour around to visit open natural Theatre, Energy rock, Prayersโ€™ rock, Toonot cave. Return to the ger camp, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Ikh Gazaryn Chuluu โ€“ Tsagaan Suvarga

Stop At: Ikh Gazriin Chuluu Nature Reserve, Mandalgovi Mongolia
Today we travel to Tsagaan Suvarga, a sedimentary structure which is considered as ancient seabed. Arrive at our next tourist ger camp and lunch. In the afternoon, we take a tour around and visit to Khevtee Bosoo cave. The cave has wider entrance and it gets narrow as it is closer to the other end. Continue to Tsagaan Suvarga scarps and enjoy hiking around the colourful cliffs as you make your way toward the top. Return to the ger camp, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Tsagaan Suvarga- Yolyn Am gorge, Gurvan Saikhan National park in the Gobi desert

Stop At: Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park Mongolia
Today we travel to Gobi Gurvan Saikhan Park in a drive that takes four to five hours, stopping for photography along the way. Our drive passes by Dalanzadgad, a Gobi town where we can stop for groceries or other necessities if you wish. Arrive at our next tourist ger camp (2050 m above the sea level) in Gurvan Saikhan Mountain. In the afternoon, we visit Yolyn Am gorge and enjoy hiking in the beautiful gorge for 1-2 hours. Visit local natural history museum for the information of its flora and fauna. Transfer to ger camp, dinner and overnight there.

Day 7: Yolyn Am gorge- Khongor sand dunes, Camel ride

Stop At: Khongoryn Els, Gobi Desert, Dalanzadgad 212503 Mongolia
In the morning, we check out from the ger camp and travel to Khongor sand dunes. The road runs alongside the Khongor dunes after sometime as we make our way to Khongor river valley, bounded by last of Altai Mountain Range. Visit the beautiful sand dunes by the Khongor river streaming through the sands. Check in at the ger camp and lunch. In the afternoon, we take a tour to Seruun Bulag, a natural cool spring originates in between Khongor river and sand dunes.

Stop At: Khongoryn Els, Gobi Desert, Dalanzadgad 212503 Mongolia
Then we visit Gobi family and camel ride (1 hour) through Singing dunes. Optional climbing to the dunes by the sunset and one will enjoy breath-taking scenery of the dunes and its surrounding landscape. Dinner and overnight at the ger camp.

Day 8: Khongor sand dunes- Bayanzag, The Flaming Cliffs

Stop At: Flaming Cliffs, Mongolia
The drive to the Bayanzag takes between 3 and 4 hours, passing through vast desert badlands that span out into the furthest distances, where remote mountains line the horizon. Lone gers and nomads on camel or horseback hang suspended in the mirages, whilst the desert floor is strewn with a range of colourful rocks and unusual minerals. This is the Gobi at its stark best - there are many opportunities to stop and take photographs of the landscapes and people. Arrive at the ger camp and lunch. Enjoy the wilderness and unique nature formations and explore the home to ancient dinosaur and walking in the rich saxaul forest. Enjoy the view of sunset over the Flaming Cliffs.

Day 9: Bayanzag- Ongi Monastery

Stop At: Ongi Monastery, Saikhan-Ovoo Mongolia
Breakfast and we drive north to Ongi Monastery ruins by the Ongi river. Our drive takes 4-5 hour passing through wide open Ongi steppe. Arrive at our ger camp and lunch. In the afternoon, we visit the ruins of historical Ongi Monastery (18th century) with some short hiking. Return to the ger camp and rest. Optional sauna or massage available. Dinner and overnight at the ger camp.

Day 10: Ongi Monastery โ€“ Nomadic Family in Khujirt, Uvurkhangai

Stop At: Khujirt, Khujirt, Ovorkhangai Province
Travel more north toward central Mongolia today. Today we overnight at Mongolian nomadic family ger for the authentic experience. Our drive takes 4-5 hour through the Gobi steppes to central Mongolia steppe. Arrive at our host family and enjoy typical Mongolian lunch.

Stop At: Khujirt, Khujirt, Ovorkhangai Province
The rest of the day is spent with nomads taking part in their daily chores including, cooking, cheese and curd making, milking mares, making Airag, herding and many more. Enjoy your stay overnight at the nomadsโ€™ summer campsite.

Day 11: Tsenkher hot springs via Karakorum

Stop At: Erdene Zuu Monastery, Kharkhorin 62090 Mongolia
Farewell to our host family and we drive to ancient capital Karakorum. We visit legendary monastery Erdene Zuu, the first Buddhist monastery in Central Mongolia founded in 1586 and its surroundings the Turtle Rock and the Phallic stone etc.

In the afternoon we will visit the newly established Museum of Karakorum which gives a good introduction to Central Mongolia, itsโ€™ history and the UNESCO world heritage site Orkhon river valley.

Continue our travel to Tsenkher hot springs where we stay overnight. Arrive at our ger camp after 3-4-hour travel. Enjoy relaxing in the natural curative hot spa.

Day 12: Tsenkher hot springs- Khorgo Terkh National park via Tsetserleg

Stop At: Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park, Khorgo Mongolia
Check out from our camp and we continue our journey to the north west. Visit historical Zayiin Gegeen temple museum at Tsetserleg town. Next stop at mythical Taikhar rock which keeps around 150 inscriptions engraved on the cliff written in Turkic, Uyghur, Mongolian, Tibetan, Manchu and Chinese, but most of them are barely appeared now. Picnic lunch along the way. Our afternoon drive brings you into the volcanic surrounds of Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan - the 'Great White Lake'. The lake lies calmly in the arms of tall hills, its water extremely clear and lined with long sand beaches. The road winds along the shoreline, past Shamanic piles of black lava, before it cuts a short distance inland towards the Khorgo Volcano. At around 10,000 feet up, the volcano is now extinct, but still revered by the nomads of the region. A short walk takes you to the crater rim, where red-stained rock descends into a deep chasm surrounded by sacred Ovoo mounds. Look back towards Lake Terkh Tsagaan - there is an excellent view over the lake through a small hill pass. Dinner and overnight at the ger camp by the lake shore.

Day 13: Khorgo Terkh National park- Five Rivers valley

Stop At: Delgermurun River, Mongolia
Today we drive a path northward, passing Orookh pass and continuing into the astounding Huvsgul Mountains. The mountains themselves vary in character, from stark outcroppings of dun-colored rock to steep green slopes that rise far over the river valleys and isolated ger encampments. The drive takes 6-7 hours with picnic lunch along our way. Our next stop is beautiful five river valley, a confluence of 5 rivers: Delgermurun, Bugsei, Chuluut, and Ider river combines into Selenge river. Arrive at our ger camp by the riverside. Short hiking toward to Borivt mountain where you will have panoramic view of the surrounding including the view of the river confluence. Optional fishing or kayaking on the river. Dinner and overnight at the ger camp.

Day 14: Five Rivers- Lake Huvsgul

Stop At: Lake Hovsgol National Park, Khatgal Mongolia
Breakfasts, we drive toward Lake Huvsgul. We visit Uushig Deer Stones before heading to Lake Huvsgul. Lunch at the ger restaurant and in the afternoon, we continue our journey toward the lake. The drive from Murun to Lake Huvsgul covers slightly more than 150 kilometers, passing across a landscape of green hills studded by rock outcroppings, river valleys with braided channels which crisscross the lush valley floors and skies filled with hunting birds-of-prey. The road can get bumpy as it passes the settlement of Khatgal and enters the forests surrounding the lake, before emerging on the banks of Lake Huvsgul itself with your ger camp close at hand. Remainder of the day at leisure on Lake Huvsgul.

Day 15: Leisure Day in Lake Huvsgul

Stop At: Khuvsgul Lake, Mongolia
In the morning, enjoy 2-hour horseback riding along the lake shore. The rest of the day is spent in leisurely activities and sightseeing on Lake Huvsgul and its surroundings - there are a number of ways to spend the day, including optional boat journeys, gentle walking, visit to Darkhad family and a visit to the Tsaatan nomads โ€“ the 'Reindeer People'. Enjoy 2-hour kayaking on the lake.

Day 16: Lake Huvsgul โ€“ Uran Togoo

Stop At: Bulgan Province, Bulgan Province
We depart from Lake Huvsgul and start our journey toward the Khangai region of Mongolia; here one will definitely admire the nature beauty. Khangai region is beautiful mountainous area that is rich in wood, wildlife and rivers. Picnic lunch along the way and optional nomadic family visit. We arrive at our ger camp near Uran Togoo Mountain. Short drive to Uran Togoo and enjoy hiking into the ancient volcano that was active 20-25 thousand years ago. Return to the ger camp, dinner and overnight.

Day 17: Uran Togoo- Amarbayasgalant Monastery

Stop At: Amarbayasgalant Monastery, Amar Hiyd Mongolia
Today we head to the east to magnificent Amarbayasgalant monastery located in Baruun Buren, Selenge. Our road trip, passes by Bulgan town as well as industrial town Erdenet which has one of Mongoliaโ€™s largest copper mines. Arrive at our ger camp and lunch. In the afternoon, we visit renowned Amabayasgalant established between 1727 and 1736. The monastery was dedicated to dedicated to Undur Gegeen Zanabazar. Return to the ger camp, dinner and overnight.

Day 18: Amarbayasgalant Monastery- Ulaanbaatar

Stop At: Ulaanbaatar, Ulaanbaatar
Today we drive toward Ulaanbaatar with the early start from the ger camp. Our drive takes 7-8 hours with lunch along the way at the local restaurant. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar in the late afternoon and check in at the hotel. Optional shopping for souvenir if time allows. Enjoy traditional folklore concert at Tumen Ekh ensemble. Farewell dinner.
