      Lost City - Ciudad Perdida

We set off early in the morning so we have enough time to explore this pre-Hispanic site. After Machu Picchu in Peru, it is archaeologically and historically the largest site of its kind. The city was built between the 11th and 14th centuries by the indigenous Tayrona people and was only rediscovered by grave robbers in the 1970s. This mystical place lies between 1000 and 2000 meters above sea level and can only be reached on foot. We sleep in hammocks with mosquito nets or simple shelters with beds (including mosquito nets) at Camp Teyuna.
