This tour includes:

Accommodation

We will be accommodated at cosy rural and local guesthouses, but also at comfortable hotels.

Transport

Airport transfer/pick up from and to Cluj Napoca is included. Transport from one point to another is also included.

Meals

Breakfast are included in the total price. Lunches and dinners are not included but are available at an extra cost. An average meal will be around 15 euro/person. On most of the locations we will have the chance to experience local dishes made out of natural, organic and local ingredients.

You will be guided by Calin Gabor, a professional nature and travel photographer and licensed tour guide.

  • Day 1 Day 1: Cluj-Napoca Breb
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 1: Cluj-Napoca Breb

      We will pick you up from the Cluj Napoca International Airport or from your hotel in Cluj Napoca or Baia Mare.

      After a 3 h transfer we will reach the Breb village, a rural fairytale in the heart of the historical region of Maramures.

       

      Breb is one of the locations in Transylvania, where Prince Charles has bought and restored a traditional house.

       

      A delicious reward, consisting in a tasty dinner will end the day.

      We will also discuss the plan for the next days.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Breb - A Rural Fairytale

      Day 2: Breb - A Rural Fairytale

      We will photograph during Sunrise and Sunset hours in and around the village and also inside craftsmen workshops.


      If you want to go back in time and experienced how rural life in modern Europe used to look like hundreds of years ago, than this is the place.

      Day 3: A Trip With The Steam Engine Train On A Wild Valley

      Today we will enroll on a special trip - the Vaser Valley steam train, one of the few of its kind in Europe. We will photograph along this wild and beautiful river.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Passing Over The Carpathians

      Day 4: Passing Over The Carpathians

      Today we will pass from Maramureศ™ to Bucovina, another historical region of Romania. We will use one of the routes that tartars used 800 years ago when they came to Europe.

      A special stop will be on the Prislop Pass where we will also enjoy a walk, experiencing great views over the highest mountains in this part of the country -  The Rodnei Mountains National Park with its 2303 m. 


      The night will be spent at over 1600 m on the Rarau Mountain. Here we will enjoy a sunset and sunrise photo session.

      Day 5: Above The Clouds - The Lady S Rocks

      Although it rises just 1700 m above the sea level, Raru Mountain has a lot to offer both photographers or nature lovers. We will spend the first part of the day on this beautiful mountain peak enjoying the Sunrise and  an easy hike. If we are lucky we might also be witness to the sea of clouds that is regularly forming over the valley.

      Day 6: Voroneศ› - The Sistine Chapel Of The East

      Bucovina is also known for its painted monasteries. Some of them are part of the UNESCO World Heritage. We will visit the most famous one. Voroneศ› - with is unique blue walls, is also known as the Sistine Chapel of the East.


      On the after noon we will take the Hutulca steam train that will take us for a couple of hours along the Moldovita river. We will have the chance to experience and photograph the specific country side in this archaic region.

      Day 7: Dorna Couny And Dracula S Castle

      After a week of traveling and photography sessions we deserve some rest and a tasty reward. We will enjoy the best dishes that you can find in this part of the world, made out of totally natural and local ingredients. Most of them are coming directly from the family farm where we will also overnight.


      Dorna valley is a special place, it is a eco certified destination, and one of the most beautiful areas of Romania.


      On the evening we will enjoy the sunset over Transylvania from a belle view point in the Tihuta Pass.


      Tihuta Pass, that is connecting Transylvania and Bucovina for centuries, is also the place where Bram Stokerโ€™s famous novel, Dracula, is taking place.

      After photographing the Sunrise over Bucovina we will have a transfer back to Cluj-Napoca

      If time, we can also visit shortly this vibrant city. We also recommend spending one or two extra days here.
