  • Day 1 Day 1: Pick-Up And Transfer To Tihuta (Borgo) Pass
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 1: Pick-Up And Transfer To Tihuta (Borgo) Pass

      We will pick you up from your hotel in Cluj-Napoca or Cluj Napoca International Airpot. If you can not fit in the pick up interval (07.00 Am to 5.00 PM please arrive at least one day early - Cluj Napoca is a fascinating city and we recommend visiting it either on arrival or before departure).

       

      After a 2.5 h drive we will reach the Tihuta Pass, also known as Borgo Pass. This is a mysterious place and is related with the story of Count Dracula from the known novel by Bram Stoker.

      We will spend the following nights in this magnificent place from where we will have beautiful views over the wild Carpathian Mountains.

       

      Depending on the time available we will be visiting the Piatra Fantanele Monastery and photograph the Sunset over Transylvania and the surroundings from a belle-view point.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Explore The Romanian Country Side

      Day 2: Explore The Romanian Country Side

      We will wake up and after a short drive we will reach a good spot to watch and photograph the Sunrise. If we are lucky, we will also enjoy a sea of clouds, which is regularly forming down the valley.

       

      After the Sunrise session we will come back to the accommodation for taking a traditional breakfast.

       

      We will spend the rest of the day easy hiking and taking photos of the traditional and archaic romanian village in winter clothes.

       

      On our way back to the guest house we will also have a Sunset photo session over the higher Carpathian Mountains that are surrounding the Tihuta Pass.

       

      A great traditional dinner with specific, delicious Romanian dishes will end a great day.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Witness And Photograph The Bear Dance

      Day 3: Witness And Photograph The Bear Dance

      Today will have a bit more action.


      Afer breakfast we will have a short transfer to Vatra Dornei, a cosy mountain town, the center of the Dorna county. Here we will take part to the Winter Tradition and Customs Fair, that gathers teams from all over Transylvania, Moldova and Bukowina regions.

      You will have the chance to experience and photograph some of the oldest winter traditions, with arcahic origins such as the Bear Dance, Carols singing or the Goat Dance.  


      By far,  the most impressive is the bear dance. A team made out of a few dozens people dressed with real bear skins will take part to a dancing ritual followed by specific music and incatations.

      On evening we will return to the accomodation place.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Transfer To Cluj
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 4: Transfer To Cluj

      After breakfast we will transfer you back to Cluj-Napoca.

      On our way we could also visit the medieval german city of Bistrita, the capital of Bistria-Nasaud county.
