Dinner and accommodation in Alma Via Guesthouse. Our host will be a German couple who moved to this charming hidden village, restored an old Saxon house and built a new restaurant barn. Behind the garden there is a swimming pond. The evenings and mornings mid - May will probably be slightly chilly but if you are fine with that, it is good to know there will be a swimming option.

After breakfast we will have a short bike fitting session and straight after we pedall to Biertan where we can discover one of the best-preserved fortified churches, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Up on the hills we can admire the remaining terraces of old wine culture of the area. We will enjoy the beatiful rolling hills on tarmac. Leaving Biertan and Copsa Mare, our ride continues through pleasant countryside and into a beautiful forest. The road will also change to gravel. From Nou Sasesc we can choose wether we will cycle or walk. to our last village is Malancrav, whose fortified church has the most well-preserved mural paintings. The largest Saxon community in Transylvania lives here as well. We can pay a visit to a gipsy basket maker or a weaver lady.

Dinner and accommodation are in restored Saxon houses owned by Mihai Eminescu Trust.

      Day 3: Malancrav - Sighisoara, 23 Mi. (37 Km)

The first village today is Floresti from which weโ€™ll continue through a bucolic valley to Cris, home of the Bethlen castle, one of the most beautiful Renaissance castles in Transylvania. Today weโ€™ll have a couple of climbs and downhills, but concentrating on the beauty will carry you through. The Breite Ancient Oak Tree Reserve offers a spectacular ride among centuriesโ€“old  oaks. After a small, technical downhill we get to Sighisoara, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful and well-preserved inhabited citadels in Europe, and an UNESCO World Heritage Site

  • Day 4 Day 4: Sighisoara - Crit, 26 Mi. (43 Km)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm
