Logistics & notes DEPARTURE & ARRIVAL : We will leave our accommodation in Mexico City on Day 3 morning. We will arrive at our accommodation in San Cristobal de las Casas on Day 8 afternoon. AIRPORT TRANSFERS : This tour doesnโ€™t include airport transfers. Tuxtla Gutierrez International Airport is about 30 km away from the center of Tuxtla Gutierrez and is easily accessible by taxi. Mexico City International Airport is close to the center of the city and is well-connected by both taxis and public transport. PHYSICAL CONDITION : This tour involves a decent amount of walking and hiking. Therefore, travelers should have at least moderate physical fitness condition. AGE : Due to required physical condition, the recommended age of participants in this tour is 12-69 years. However, potential participants outside of the above-mentioned age group can still participate upon request if (1) they are in a good physical condition (2) that will allow them to cope with the pace of the group tour. ACTIVITIES : Participation in all activities is optional - just be sure to be in time for daily departures. Most of the included activities such as walking tours (>2h, normally in historic centers of bigger cities), orientation walks ( WHAT TO TAKE WITH YOU : Comfortable clothes & shoes; swimming suit & slippers/water shoes; a smaller backpack for daily tours; hat/cap, sunglasses & sunscreen; travel insurance; good mood & curiosity. GROUP VS. PRIVATE : Group Tour: take a trip with other travelers. Private Tour: take a trip on your own, with friends, couple, or family. While offering more privacy and exclusivity such tours may cost more than group ones. If you wanna take a private tour with a group that is bigger than 4, please contact us and we will send you a personalized offer. For private tours, the dates of departure (and in some cases the itinerary & activities) can be customized on your request. PRICING : The price of the tour/person depends on the number of travelers and the room/tour option you choose.

Post-COVID health & safety Understanding continuously present risks associated with COVID-19 pandemics and willing to keep both travelers & our team healthy, Vibe Adventures introduced internal health & safety guidelines that are enforced on all our tours until such measures are lifted by authorities of each destination and/or pandemic situation gets completely resolved worldwide. Those guidelines are based on official recommendations & protocols from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and among others include the following measures: Education & Training: โ— regular training & education of the staff (Tour Leaders, drivers, crew) and suppliers (accomodations, restaurants, experience providers, etc.) on the importance of COVID-related health & safety measures; โ— promotion of the importance of hand hygiene & other COVID-related health & safety measures to travelers through signage, oral instructions and online materials; โ— contracting only suppliers that responsibly implement COVID-related health & safety protocols recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and local authorities. Hand Hygiene: โ— mandatory application of antibacterial gel (70% alcohol) by everyone entering the vehicle that is used for transportation during the tour; โ— implementing mandatory hand-hygiene policy that requires regular scheduled use of hand sanitizer and washing hands with soap by the staff during the tour, especially after touching objects in public areas (e.g. handrails, doors, money, mobile phones, etc.). Masks: โ— mandatory use of a face masks or other protecting items (e.g. scarfs, kerchiefs or bandanas) covering nose, chin & mouth by both travelers & staff in all public areas (especially in confined environments such as public transport, shops, markets, museums, lobbies of hotels etc.); โ— the use of the mask is not mandatory in private areas (e.g. hotel rooms) and while having meals & drinks. Sanitation: โ— mandatory daily sanitation of the vehicles used for transportation of travellers by the staff especially of handles, doors, seats, and other frequently-touched surfaces; โ— use of cleaning and disinfecting products that are approved by local & international health authorities; โ— regular audit of our suppliers on their cleanliness & sanitation protocols. Physical distancing: โ— mandatory social distance of at least 1.5 m (~5 feet) by both travelers & staff throughout the tour. Health assessments: โ— mandatory daily health assessments of all travellers & staff (measuring the body temperature & oral questionnaire on COVID-related symptoms). Transportation in a private vehicle (except for Day 9: intercity bus) throughout the tour is included. The vehicle type depends on the group size and may include a car, 7-seater, or minivan.

8x nights in conveniently located hotels/B&Bs are included. ACCOMMODATIONS : An exact list of accommodations is sent together with trip notes 2 weeks before the departure date. Most of the accommodations are centrally located, tourist-class, locally-owned properties with private facilities in each room (unless specified in the itinerary). We can arrange pre- and post-tour accommodations but not earlier than 2 weeks before the departure when we send you final trip notes. 8x breakfasts, 1x lunch, 1x dinner are included. FOOD : Meals and Gastronomic Experiences included in this tour can normally meet most of the common dietary restrictions. However, due to the active program of the tour and different menus in each place, satisfying a special diet or food preferences of a particular traveler will depend on circumstances and cannot be fully guaranteed.

The city is a world-class cultural hub that offers a huge variety of museums, galleries, and architectural gems, along with bustling nightlife and diverse gastronomic culture. Arrive on Saturday or some days before and take your time to explore this diverse city before meeting your group and Tour Leader on Saturday evening: informational meeting, welcome dinner, and optional get-together with the rest of the group.

      In the morning go to UNESCO-listed Teotihuacรกn, a fabulous archaeological zone that lies in a mountain-ringed offshoot of the Valle de Mรฉxico. The site of the huge Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, it was Mexicoโ€™s biggest ancient city and the capital of what was probably the countryโ€™s largest pre-Hispanic empire.

      In the afternoon, after a walking tour and lunch in Teotihuacan, continue the Chiapas Tour next parade in Puebla. Once a bastion of conservatism and tradition, the city has come out of its colonial-era shell. Puebla retains a fantastically well-preserved center, a stunning cathedral, and a wealth of beautiful churches, while younger poblanos (people from Puebla) are embracing the cityโ€™s increasingly thriving art and nightlife scenes. Optional dinner and get-together with the group in the evening.

      After breakfast and checkout, go to Tehuacan-Cuicatlan Biosphere Reserve. Located in a complex system of mountain ranges and valleys, this UNESCO-listed area generates great biodiversity and different ecosystems. The region has played an important role in the development of agriculture in Mesoamerica. Exploration by car and walking.

      In the afternoon, move to Oaxaca City. A cultural colossus that fits to rival anywhere in Latin America for history, gastronomy, and colorful manifestations of indigenous culture, Oaxaca is a complex but intensely attractive city whose majestic churches and refined plazas have deservedly earned it a UNESCO World Heritage badge. Optional dinner and get-together with the group in the evening.

      In the morning, go to Monte Alban. Now an illustrious ruin, this former capital of the Zapotec empire served as the second-largest ceremonial site in Mesoamerica after Teotihuacan for over a thousand years. Thereafter, move to Hierve el Agua. The location for some of the "Top posts" on Instagram, this series of spectacularly sited mineral springs is a great place to enjoy the impressive landscapes and sunsets.

      Afterward, transfer to a nearby "Magical Town" of Mitla.  Orientation walk of the Historic Center, check-in, optional dinner, and get-together with the group in one of the local restaurants.

      Enjoy the sea and sun in the morning and immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring Sumidero Canyon on a boat trip to enjoy the sight of impressive waterfalls, enter mystical caves, and see the cliff where Chiapanec Warriors committed suicide instead of being forced to surrender to the Spanish Conquistadores. After that, head to Chiapa de Corzo, one of the most beautiful towns in Chiapas, it is well known for its warm people and colorful Renaissance architecture. In January, you can enjoy the Fiesta Grande, one of the most attractive events in the country, declared a UNESCO Intangible Heritage. Accommodation, orientation walk in the Historic Center, optional dinner, and get-together with the group.

Set in a gorgeous highland valley surrounded by pine forests, this beautiful colonial city has been a popular travelersโ€™ destination for decades.
