Arrival in Beijing. After completing the immigration formalities, welcome by your tour guide.

The day is at your free disposal. On request, you can experience the excursion to the Summer Palace including lunch as part of the excursion package*. The Summer Palace is located just outside Beijing and was originally a private garden, which is divided into different areas. For example, you will find the "Hall of Joy and Longevity", the Marble Ship, the "Fragrant Buddha Pavilion", the "Cloud Dispersing Hall" and the "Sea of Wisdom" temple. Dinner is included in the excursion package* today.

If you wish, you can enjoy the excursion to the Great Wall and the Olympic Park including lunch as part of the excursion package*. "There is no true hero who has not climbed the Great Wall", this popular saying testifies to the great respect the Chinese have for this structure. Construction of the wall began between the 8th and 5th centuries BC as part of fortifications. In 221 - 210 BC, the individual parts were joined together to form a single wall. 300,000 soldiers and 500,000 farmers worked for several years on this mammoth construction, which was then over 6000 km long. Followed by a visit to the Olympia Park.

If you wish, you can take the excursion to Tiananmen Square, the Imperial Palace and the Temple of Heaven, including lunch, as part of the excursion package*. Visit to Tiananmen Square. Tiananmen Square is framed to the north by the Gate of Heavenly Peace, to the west by the People’s Congress Hall, to the south by Mao Zedong Hall and to the east by the History Museum. The Imperial Palace or "Forbidden City" is the largest and most important building in China. For 490 years the residence of 24 Ming and Qing emperors, no mortal was allowed to enter the palace. The dominant color is purple and there are over 9,000 rooms in palaces and pavilions covering an area of 720,000 square meters. The Temple of Heaven, built in 1420, symbolizes heaven and earth, where emperors - from the center of the earth - prayed for a good harvest. Built without a single nail, it rises above a marble terrace and shines with its roof of 50,000 blue glazed tiles

Transfer to the airport and flight to Xian. In Xian, visit the old town and the district of the Muslim Hui minority. About 300 m west of the Drum Tower is the 12,000 square meter mosque from the Ming period (1368 - 1644). It consists of 5 courtyards with various buildings in traditional Chinese style, which also feature Islamic decorative patterns. Within the old town there are ruins of old temples that have since been restored. Dinner together.

Full-day excursion to the world-famous"Terracotta Army" including lunch. While drilling wells in March 1974, farmers made a sensational archaeological discovery: the Terracotta Army, a military force spread over three underground areas. So human-like in size and expression that one could believe that this underground army could immediately put the strategic order of battle of the time into practice. Afterwards, drive to the "Great Wild Goose Pagoda", which is part of the "Temple of Great Grace and Kindness", which Prince Li Zhi had built in the 7th century in honor of his mother.

Transfer to the airport and flight to Shanghai.

The rest of the day is at your leisure or, as part of the excursion package*, you can take a walk along the "Bund" and through the Nanjinglu shopping street, where you will find numerous stores, restaurants, cinemas and the No. 1 department store, including dinner.

Shanghai, "above the sea", is the largest city in China and an "insanely" prosperous commercial and industrial center. The city’s eventful past with opium wars, refugee flows, the free port of the Western powers and the modernity of the modern era can be traced today in districts, houses, facades and names. For example, on the "Bund", the famous waterfront promenade Zongshan Lu.

If you wish, you can experience the excursion to the Jade Buddha Temple, the Yu Garden and the old town, including lunch, as part of the excursion package*. Today’s day trip takes you to the old town with a stroll through the narrow streets, past countless food stalls, small restaurants, bustling stores and colorful markets. Very close to the old town, you will visit the Yu Garden, which dates back to the Ming period and is an example of traditional and typical Chinese horticulture. After lunch, you will visit the Jade Buddha Temple, which houses a priceless white jade Buddha figure.

Return flight to Frankfurt: Transfer to the airport and return flight from Shanghai back to Frankfurt. Arrival in Frankfurt on the same day.
