Giza Pyramids Complex

The Great Pyramids of Giza
The Great Pyramid of Khufu, built around 2580 BC, is the largest of the Giza pyramids. Originally 146.6 meters tall, itโs now about 138.8 meters. Made of 2.3 million limestone blocks, itโs the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and remains largely intact, showcasing ancient Egyptian engineering.
The Great Sphinx
The Great Sphinx, located on the Giza Plateau, is a colossal limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, likely Khafre. Built around 2500 BC, it measures 73 meters long and 20 meters high. Itโs one of the worldโs largest and oldest monolithic statues, symbolizing ancient Egyptian ingenuity.
The Valley Temple
The Valley Temple, located near the Great Sphinx and the Pyramid of Khafre in Giza, Egypt, is an ancient funerary temple dating back to the Old Kingdom, around 2500 BCE. This temple served as a site for the mummification process and religious rituals for the pharaoh Khafre. Itโs renowned for its impressive architecture, including massive limestone blocks and well-preserved granite pillars. The Valley Temple offers a fascinating glimpse into ancient Egyptian burial practices and the grandeur of their monumental construction.
The Egyptian Museum
The Egyptian Museum in Cairo features over 120,000 ancient artifacts including The Hanging Obelisk, The 10 Statues of King Senusert, The Grand Staircase, Statues of Ptolemaic Kings and Queens, The Victory Column of King Merenptah, The Royal Regalia, and the Grand Atrium & Gift Shop, capturing the essence of Egyptian history from the prehistoric to the Greco-Roman period.
