Arrive Into Cairo And Transfer To Hotel

As soon as you arrive at the airport, our staff will be there to greet you and assist you with obtaining your visa and collecting your luggage. From there, weโ€™ll transfer you to your hotel to start your trip. Our staff will help you settle in, introduce you to the local area, and explain the arrangements for the following day. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and explore at your leisure. If you arrive early, we recommend taking an evening dinner cruise on the Nile or experiencing the spectacular sound and light show at the pyramids, both of which can be booked locally upon arrival. These options are a great way to kick off your trip and add some extra excitement to your first day in Egypt.

      Overnight: Cairo 5-star hotel

  • Day 2 Cairo, Pyramids, Sphinx & Museum Tour
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Cairo, Pyramids, Sphinx & Museum Tour

Embark on an unforgettable tour of Egypt starting with a drive to Giza on the outskirts of Cairo. Here, youโ€™ll visit the Sphinx and the three great pyramids of Egypt, accompanied by one of our expert local Egyptologist guides. They will be a wealth of knowledge, full of enthusiasm about Egyptian history and their country in general. The Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) is an awe-inspiring man-made structure, standing at 500 feet high and 750 feet wide at its base. Constructed of giant stone blocks with a hard limestone casing, the casing has been stripped away over the years to reveal the inner block structure. Together with the smaller pyramids of Khafre (Chephern) and Menkaure (Mycerinus), the sight of these enormous structures rising out of the desert is truly breathtaking. Youโ€™ll even have the opportunity to climb down inside the pyramids if you wish, although your guide cannot accompany you (a limited number of tickets are available for the Great Pyramid).

After the Pyramids, weโ€™ll head to the Egyptian Museum, home to the fantastic Tutankhamun exhibit and a vast number of other ancient Egyptian artifacts. This evening, weโ€™ll transfer to the station for the overnight sleeper train to Aswan (approx. 12 hours). Youโ€™ll enjoy dinner on board in your private twin-berth compartments before the steward sets up your beds for the night. This is a unique way to travel through Egypt and a memorable experience in itself, allowing you to see the countryside and stars from the comfort of your own private cabin.

      Overnight: Sleeper train

  • Day 3 Aswan, Nubian Village And Philae Temple
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Aswan, Nubian Village And Philae Temple

After a comfortable overnight sleeper train journey, we arrive in Aswan this morning and transfer to our hotel, which overlooks the Nile. This is the most picturesque location in Aswan, with lush green islands and feluccas sailing to and fro. Aswan is a melting pot of African and Middle Eastern cultures, which you can experience by wandering through the busy markets. Itโ€™s also part of the ancient region of Nubia, which comprised parts of present-day southern Egypt and northern Sudan around the Nile rivers. Many descendants of the Nubian people still live here, and weโ€™ll visit a local Nubian village to see their colorful houses, simple way of life, and enjoy a traditional lunch.

In the afternoon, weโ€™ll continue our tour with a visit to the Temple of Philae, a beautiful island complex dedicated to Isis and reclaimed from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. Weโ€™ll reach the temple by a scenic boat ride, which adds to the charm of the experience. The evening is free for you to explore Aswanโ€™s spice and general markets, and to walk up and down the popular Corniche on the banks of the Nile. An optional camel ride through the sands on the far bank of the Nile to St. Simeonโ€™s monastery is also available. If youโ€™ve chosen the Abu Simbel option, we recommend heading to bed early this evening to be ready for a very early start tomorrow morning. Aswan is a fascinating city with a rich history and vibrant culture, and this is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in it.

      Overnight: Aswan 5 star hotel

      Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

  • Day 4 Abu Simbel Option. Nile Felucca Cruise
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Abu Simbel Option. Nile Felucca Cruise

For those who are early risers, thereโ€™s an optional tour to the temples of Ramses II at Abu Simbel. These fascinating temples were dismantled and rebuilt stone by stone to save them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser, and theyโ€™re an incredible sight to behold.

If you choose not to take the optional Abu Simbel tour, the morning is free for you to explore Aswanโ€™s bustling and exotic bazaar or relax at the hotel before we embark on our traditional felucca sailboat and begin our journey down the Nile. Weโ€™ll spend a fun nightโ€™s sleep on the deck of the sailboat, well looked after by our friendly Nubian crew.

During the voyage, our support boat will join up with the felucca from time to time, providing clean toilets and showers. For those who prefer a more comfortable option, thereโ€™s the possibility to upgrade to an extra night in the hotel in Aswan instead of sleeping on the felucca. This gives you the flexibility to choose the option that suits you best, ensuring that you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience on your journey down the Nile.

      Overnight: On board felucca

      Meals: Breakfast, Dinner, Lunch

  • Day 5 Edfu Temple, Luxor Temple At Night
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Edfu Temple, Luxor Temple At Night

After a delicious breakfast on-board, weโ€™ll bid farewell to our felucca crew and visit the nearby temple at Edfu before continuing our journey northward to Luxor. Luxor is a town built on and around the ancient site of Thebes, which boasts the largest concentration of ancient ruins in the Nile Valley, if not the world. To the west of the Nile lies the City of the Dead, with its mortuary temples and rock-hewn tombs, while to the east lie the Temples of Luxor and Karnak.

Upon our arrival in Luxor, weโ€™ll check into a luxurious 5-star hotel located on the banks of the Nile. This afternoon, youโ€™ll have some free time to relax and enjoy the hotelโ€™s facilities, such as the swimming pool or spa.

Later this evening, weโ€™ll take a walking tour of the smaller Luxor Temple, which is located in the heart of the town and beautifully lit up at night. This is a magical experience, as the temple is surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the town, creating a unique atmosphere. Our knowledgeable local guide will provide us with insights into the templeโ€™s history and significance, making for an unforgettable evening.

  • Day 6 Luxor, West Bank Tour, Karnak Temple
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Luxor, West Bank Tour, Karnak Temple

This morning, weโ€™ll cross the Nile early to begin our tour of Luxorโ€™s West Bank. This area is home to the Valley of the Kings, where the dusty tombs in this ancient burial site are still revealing their secrets today, making it one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. Our tour includes several of these Pharaonic tombs, as well as the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Deir El-Medina (the Valley of the Artisans), and the huge Colossi of Memnon.

If youโ€™re looking for a unique experience (optional excursion) , a spectacular hot air balloon flight over the west bank of the Nile is available this morning. You can expect an early start to catch the sunrise as the balloon rises, but the views are worth it.

After lunch, weโ€™ll tour the huge temple complex at Karnak, which was once the religious center of Thebes and Upper Egypt. It was linked to Luxor by an extensive avenue lined with sphinxes, and the whole complex was in turn linked to the Nile via a canal through which the sacred boats of the god Amun would move. Upon entering through a smaller sphinx-lined avenue built by Ramesses II, youโ€™ll come to the immense pylon entrance. Inside the vast courtyard are three chapels dedicated to the gods Amun, Khous, and Mut. The remarkable Hypostyle Hall has 134 towering columns, each carved with scenes of gods and pharaohs, and hieroglyphic inscriptions adorn the walls. The sheer size and grandeur of the complex is awe-inspiring and will transport you back in time to ancient Egypt. Our knowledgeable guide will provide you with insights into the history and significance of this remarkable site, making for a fascinating and informative visit.
