      Welcome to Cairo! Known as โ€˜the capital of the Arab worldโ€™, this lively city of 25 million inhabitants still proudly boasts its ancient heritage. At Cairo Airport, meet your local representative and transfer to your hotel, located just minutes from the famous Egyptian museum. From there on, spend the day at leisure, depending on your time of arrival.

      Feast your eyes on the priceless artefacts of the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities โ€“ including treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun โ€“ which date back across 5,000 years of Egyptโ€™s history. You have the chance to see the famous Royal Mummies Halls (needs a separate entry ticket), which is home to the mummified remains of Egyptian pharaohs. Welcome dinner for the group, Overnight Cairo

      Day 3: The Pyramids Of Giza

      In the morning, experience the majesty of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed ancient pyramids as you tour the Giza Plateau. See the legendary Great Pyramid of Giza โ€“ the only remaining wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World โ€“ which is believed to have been constructed around 2560BC in the Fourth Dynasty, then press on to the Pyramid of Khafre and the Pyramid of Chephren. Learn the fascinating history behind the pyramids, which were constructed as tombs for Egyptian pharaohs. Next, you have the chance to visit the Giza Solar Boat Museum(needs a separate entry ticket), where the funerary ship created for Khufu (King Cheops) โ€“ which was buried at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Giza in around 2500BC โ€“ resides. Take in stunning frontal views of the Great Sphinx of Giza before the evening arrives, where youโ€™ll be able to reflect on todayโ€™s discoveries over dinner with your group.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Luxor, Karnak & East Bank Luxor

      Day 4: Luxor, Karnak & East Bank Luxor

      Board a flight south for Luxor, home to the ancient city of Thebes. Spend the morning discovering the treasures of this fascinating city, including the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Karnak Temple open-air museum with its colossal Hypostyle Hall. Boasting 134 columns aligned in 16 rows which previously held up the roof, some of the hallโ€™s columns sit over a towering 24 meters high. Next, step aboard the Nile Cruise to enjoy a spot of lunch before setting off to explore the East bank of the Nile. Return to the ancient city of Thebes and take in views of the incredible Luxor Temple, which is thought to have been in constructed in around 1400BC. See the Ramses II statues and the Colonnade 5 of Amenhotep III with its 14 columns, some 50 feet in height. Enjoy dinner on board with a belly dancing and whirling dervish show.

      Day 5: Nile Cruise & Valley Of Kings

      Explore the West bank of the Nile. Discover the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Theban Necropolis burial site and Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of pharaohs and nobles were constructed over a period of almost 500 years between the 16th and 11th century BC. The site is home to the tomb of the legendary Tutankhamun, which was famously uncovered in 1922 by English archaeologist and Egyptologist Howard Carter. Next, stop at the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut โ€“ one of the few female pharaohs โ€“ and the huge Colossi of Memnon statues, which are thought to have stood in the Theban Necropolis since 1350BC. Celebrate the end of a big day of exploration with a cocktail reception on board the ship in the evening.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Edfu To Kom Ombo

      Day 6: Edfu To Kom Ombo

      Today begins at Edfu where you can discover the majestic Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god Horus. This incredibly well-preserved shrine, thought to have been built between 237 and 57BC, was once buried under desert sand and river silt from the Nile before being restored to its former glory. Next, reboard the ship for Lunch,  Later, youโ€™ll have the opportunity to disembark at Kom Ombo to visit the townโ€™s double temple which was dedicated to two gods: the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris. The templeโ€™s Crocodile Museum is home to the mummified remains of crocodiles who would have lived on the shore of the Nile in ancient times. Enjoy an โ€˜Egyptian Nightโ€™ costume party on board, where youโ€™ll have to chance to dress up in a traditional Egyptian โ€˜Galabeyyaโ€™ and feast on a lavish buffet of Egyptian fare.

      Early morning OPTIONAL Tour to Abu Simbel by road or Flight. Abu Simbel for the next part of your Egyptian adventure. Part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Nubian Monuments site, the two Abu Simbel temples were erected in honour of Ramesses II โ€“ one of the most celebrated pharaohs โ€“ and his queen Nefertari. The temple dedicated to the former (the Great Temple of Ramesses) features four huge 20-metre statues of the pharaoh on its faรงade. Like the temples of Philae, the sight becomes even more impressive when you consider these temples were painstakingly moved from their original position to save them from being submerged in water from Lake Nasser after the construction of the Aswan High Dam.   • Day 8 Day 8: Aswan And The Philae Temple - Flight Cairo

      Day 8: Aswan And The Philae Temple - Flight Cairo

      Today your cruise will continue to Aswan where youโ€™ll board a motorized boat to Agilkia Island, home of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Philae temple complex. The temple complex was relocated from its original position to prevent it from flooding during the construction of the Aswan High Dam across the Nile, which controls floods, provides water for irrigation and generates hydroelectricity. Finish your day with a cruise around the Aswan islands in a traditional felucca boat (weather permitting), followed by a dinner back on board the ship during which white-gloved waiters will serve gourmet food (please note, a jacket is required).  

      Then youโ€™ll take a flight back to Cairo where, after checking in at the hotel, the afternoon is at your leisure.

      OPTIONAL Tour to Saqqara, Sultan Hassan mosque and Khan El Khalili with Lunch

      Today youโ€™ll be have the opportunity to visit the Pyramid of Djoser โ€“ build during the 27th-century BC for the burial of Pharoh Djoser himself. Lunch at Local restaurant before exploring the Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan; a huge and ornate mosque which dates back to 1356AD and is thought to be one of the worldโ€™s largest. See the Bab al-Futuh, a twin-towered gateway within the old city walls before making your way to Khan el-Khalili bazaar, a rustic shopping strip that still retains its old world architecture. Immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of this colorful open-air market and haggle over fare including jewelry, leather goods, spices and vegetables. Enjoy a farewell dinner to finish your final day in style.
