We start our quest on Count Dracula’s Legend Tour with a land where Vlad the Impaler spent mst of his life.

We will fist head to Targoviste city, the former capital of Wallachia region. Here we will visit the old Princely Court, where Vlad the Impaler ruled from. Here we can learn more about his life from the exhibition housed in the Chindia Tower.

Now we continue our tour to the northern regions of Arges Country. We will step into the marvelous landscape of the mountains.   Here we make a new stop at the foot of Fagaras Mountains,  to explore a stronghold built by Vlad the Impaler himself. Poenari citadel is a strong fortress on a high hill dominating the entire area.

From here we will go towards Transylvania and Sibiu. During the summer from 1 july to 30 october we will drive on Transfagarasan famous road. During all other months we will drive on Olt Valley.

The first city on our way will be Sibiu, a beautiful former saxon citadel. We will spend the night in Sibiu.

Day 2: Dracula’S Road To Prison

Today we will visit two beautiful massive castles, one of them said to have kept Dracula prisoner for several months. In the morning we will towards the magnificent castle of Corvinesti, a remarkable sample of gothic architecture, or also known as Hunyade Castle. Dracula was imprisoned here for one year in a dungeon under the ground.

After seeing the castle we will head towards Alba Iulia city, the place where the 3 romanian historical regions united in 1918. We will see here the old part of the town and enjoy some free time for lunch and visiting.

Our last stop for today will be in Medias, a small saxon town, where we will spend the night. Here in the strong walls of Margareta Church, stands a massive tower where Vlad the Impaler was incarcerated for several hours before being brought to Visegrád.

Accommodation follows in Medias town or surroundings.

Our day starts with a typical transilvanian fortified church, one of Romania’s landmarks, the Biertan Church. Surrounded by massive towers, Biertan is the biggest of its kind and legend has it Dracula visited briefly one of this towers.

The main attraction for today is probably Sighisoara Citadel, a beautifully preserved old saxon town and stronghold. But even this fairy-tale place is connected with Count Dracula’s life as this is the  legendary birtthplace of the Vampire and there is actually a house where legend says he was born!

In the afternoon we will drive towards the South Carpathians and arrive to Brasov. This is a town erected at the feet of the Carpathian Mountains. It is remarkable for its strong walls and defensive towers and mostly for its great Black Church.

Having seen where he was born and lived, it is only natural to discover, in the end of our journey, where Count Dracula was buried. Snagov is a small and enchanting monastery on an island near Bucharest where one can see the tomb of Dracula.

We will spend the evening in the old town of Bucharest. Here we will see the Princely court, the place where Vlad the Impaler ruled and learn about the connection between Dracula and the capital city.
