      After breakfast, city tour in Constanta. Founded by Greek merchants during the 5th century B.C. as the ancient Tomis, the old town is a mix of early Greek, Roman and Byzantine architecture. You will visit the treasures of the Archaeological Museum, containing the largest Roman mosaic in southeastern Europe. It houses an important collection of artifacts discovered in the area. The Treasury Hall displays 24 marble statues dating from the 2nd and 3rd centuries which represent various deities such as Fortuna and Pontus, God of the Black Sea, and the fantastic โ€œGlykon Snakeโ€. Visit the Roman Edifice - A complex of warehouses and shops from the 4th century A.D., including a magnificent mosaic floor. Free time on the beach. Overnight in Constanta.

      Drive to Tulcea. Visit Histria Citadel on the way. Drive along the Black Sea coast to the oldest and largest archaeological site in Romania. Histria, named after the Greek name for the Danube River, was founded in 656 B.C. Colonizers from the Ionian Greek city of Miletus set up a trading outpost here, as it was serviced by the abundant fisheries and the very fertile hinterland renowned for its grain production. The city was active until the late 6th century A.D. The remains of this city date back to the Hellenistic period and extend through to late Roman and early Byzantine times. Parts of major public buildings, baths, basilicas, three Christian churches and shops can be seen. . Continue to the archaeological museum which was founded in 1982. Here, you will see displays of amphorae, inscriptions, pottery, glassware, ornaments and Hellenistic bas reliefs from the site. After arriving in Tulcea the tourists will be transferred by boat at the resort. Overnight in the heart of the Danube Delta.

      We are inviting you to discover the wilderness of the Delta, to cut our way by the channels bordered by sunken willows, to cross the water surfaces covered in water lilies, to admire pelicans and hundreds of other species of birds that have their nests in these places. If you wish, we can stop on a lake so you can try your luck at catching pike, or when we come out from the lake, we may have a little fun by fishing some greedy perch.

      No matter if we go north on the Old Danube, on Bogdaproste, La Amiaza lakes, towards Mila 23, or if we go south towards Caraorman and on Iacob lake or on Litcov channel and Cuibida lake, we promise that you will see unforgettable sights. Accommodation at the same resort.

      Day 5: Trip To Letea Forest

      Today we will discover Letea Forest. It is also called the jungle of the Delta and it is the northernmost subtropical forest in Europe. It is a very special tourist attraction, a fairytale place where nature offers an unmatched show. You cannot come to the Danube Delta without visiting this fully protected area, the first natural reservation in Romania belonging to UNESCO patrimony. Here, we find desert areas alternating with specific vegetation, forest of centennial oak trees, but also a subtropical forest, lianas embracing the trunks of the trees, salty lakes, sand dunes and wild horses. Letea wild horse herds are most certainly the attraction of this ancient place, where time seems to have stopped and where many nature curiosities may be encountered. But no matter how many words we may write on this page, they cannot equal what your eyes will discover, so, letโ€™s just hit the road! Accommodation at the same resort.

      Transfer by boat to Tulcea. Transfer then to Bucharest, a city named โ€œParis of the Estโ€ or โ€œParis of the Balkansโ€ by the travelers who used to visit the city at the end of the  XIX century and who discovered a lot of similarities between these two cities regarding their architecture, food, language and fashion. The youth wore top hats, tail coats and walking sticks while the old still didnโ€™t bid goodbye to their  kaftan and the Turkish slippers. According to the fashion of those days the young ones used to study in Paris, the baby sitters and the cooks employed by the wealthy families were also French while the shopping sessions in Paris were an extreme necessity. Check in at the hotel. Discover on your own the pedestrian center of the city where many restaurants and cafes are located. Overnight in Bucharest.

      Day 7: Bucharest And Its Treasures

      Early in the morning you will visit the open air Village Museum, which will provide you with a unique experience and will give you a glimpse in the life of the Romanian peasants from more than 100 years ago. This museum is particularly impressive because all the houses were taken from their original locations and rebuilt here in Bucharest almost once century ago. Next on the agenda is a visit to Ceausescuโ€™s mad dream โ€“ The Parliament Palace. Discover the second largest building in the world โ€“ formerly known as the Peopleโ€™s Palace. Take a tour inside together with a professional English speaking guide from the Parliament in order to get a full taste of Ceausescuโ€™s heritage. The day ends with a traditional dinner in the old town at Manucโ€™s Inn (included), followed by a walking tour to a completely pedestrian area, with the remains of the princely fortress of Vlad the Impaler, the 16th century palatine church in Byzantine style, and the Stavropoleos church, an architectural jewel of the 18th century, in typical Wallachian style, with important oriental influences in external decoration.       Drive to Oltenia, the south west part of Romania, o region not very well known by the foreign travelers. We arrive in Targu Jiu and visit the Sculptural Ensemble of Constantin Brรขncuศ™i, an homage to the Romanian heroes of the First World War. Constantin Brรขncuศ™i was a Romanian sculptor, painter and photographer who made his career in France. Considered a pioneer of modernism, one of the most influential sculptors of the 20th-century, Brรขncuศ™i is called the patriarch of modern sculpture. The ensemble comprises three sculptures: the Table of Silence, the Gate of the Kiss and the The Infinity Column, on an axis 1,300 m (4,250 ft) long, oriented west to east. The ensemble is considered to be one of the great works of 20th century outdoor sculpture. The Infinity Column symbolizes the concept of Infinity and the infinite sacrifice of the Romanian soldiers. It stacks 17 rhomboidal modules, with a half-unit at the top. The incomplete top unit is thought to be the element that expresses the concept of the infinite. The Table of Silence is a circular stone table surrounded by twelve hourglass-seats, which symbolize time. The Table represents the moment before the battle on which the combatants were going to participate. Nevertheless, the seats are not located close to the edges of the table. The Gate of the Kiss, of Banpotoc travertine (marble), features a kiss motif on the gate pillars. The transition to another life occurs through the Gate of Kiss. Overnight in Targu Jiu.

      Continue by driving to Ramnicul Valcea to visit the monastery of Polovragi one of the most important religious and artistic monuments which attracts the admiration and the appreciation of the visitors from our country and from abroad. Built in 1505 in the Byzantine style on a trefoil plan. The painting of the church is particularly important both from an iconographic point of view and its technical execution, with particular characteristics. The paintings inside the church were made between 1703 and 1712 by the renowned master-painters of the painting school of Hurezi (Horezu). Visit Horezu Monastery The Horezu Monastery or Hurezi Monastery was founded in 1690 by Prince Constantin Brรขncoveanu in the town of Horezu, Wallachia, Romania. It is considered to be a masterpiece of "Brรขncovenesc style", known for its architectural purity and balance, the richness of its sculpted detail, its treatment of religious compositions, its votive portraits, and its painted decorative works. The monastery has been inscribed by UNESCO on its list of World Heritage Sites. In the afternoon, discover another remarkable thing about this region: Horezu ceramics (UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity). Horezu ceramics are decorated in a unique, easily recognizable style marked by specific elements: roosters, stars, trees, snakes, folk motives and the sun. Drive to Sibiu. Overnight in Sibiu.

       Visit Sibiu- Europeโ€™s cultural capital in 2007 -walking tour of the old city including The Small and Large squares, Evangelical cathedral, Brukenthal Palace, Stairs passage, Council tower, Liarโ€™s bridge.  Drive to Alba Iulia-the site of the ancient Apulum founded by the Romans in the II  century and visit the Orthodox Cathedral where the first kings of Romania were crowned, the Roman Catholic Cathedral, the most representative building of the Medieval  Romanic style in Transylvania and the Princely Palace. You will walk along the โ€žRoute of the 3 fortificationsโ€ a dive in time and legends of Transylvania guided by the ancient soldiers. We head towards Sighisoara. Dinner in the house where Count Dracula was born. Accommodation in an historical building inside the citadel.

      This morning you will walk on the narrow streets of medieval Sighisoara, one of the best preserved medieval citadel in Europe (UNESCO). You will visit the historical citadel The Clock Tower Museum the Torture chamber, Wooden Staircase and the Church from the hill. Drive to Cluj Napoca, former capital of Transylvania. On the route you will stop for lunch in the historical castle Haller built in the XVII century. In the afternoon take a tour of Cluj Napoca city center with its impressive St. Michael Cathedral and the equestrian statue of Matei Corvin. Overnight in Cluj Napoca.

      After breakfast head north towards Maramures region. Driving along beautiful villages with traditional houses and wooden carved gates we reach Sapinta and its picturesque and unique โ€œMerry Cemeteryโ€ with its brightly painted carved wooden crosses and humorous illustrations. Drive to  Sighetu Marmatiei โ€“the northern point of Romania at the border with Ucraina. Discover the city where 1986 Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel was born. Visit Elie Wiesel Memorial house. Born here in 1928, Elie Wiesel is the author of over 40 books, the best known of which is Night, a memoir that describes his experiences during the Holocaust and his imprisonment in several concentration camps. Wiesel writes candidly of his childhood in Sighet, where his parents were shopkeepers like many other Jewish townspeople. The town was annexed to Hungary in 1940. In 1944, Elie, his family and the rest of the Jewish community were placed in one of the two ghettos in Sighet. The Wiesel family lived in the larger of the two, on Serpent Street. On April 19, 1944, the Hungarian authorities deported the townโ€™s Jewish population to Auschwitzโ€“Birkenau. Overnight in Sighetu Marmatiei.

In the afternoon, discover Voronet Monastery, named the Sixtine Chapel of the East. You will be charmed by the quality of the paintings that this UNESCO heritage treasure still keeps.       The most picturesque treasures of Romania are the Painted Monasteries of Bucovina. Their exterior walls are decorated with elaborate 15th and 16thcentury containing portraits of saints and prophets, scenes from the life of Jesus, images of angels and demons and heaven and hell.  Visit Moldoviศ›a built between 1532 and 1537 by Petru Rareศ™, who was Stephen III of Moldaviaโ€™s illegitimate son. It was founded as a protective barrier against the Muslim Ottoman conquerors from the East. The frescoes were painted by Toma of Suceava in 1537. They are filled with yellow accents and are well preserved. The predominantly yellow-and-blue paintings on its exterior represent recurring themes in Christian Orthodox art. Sucevita Monastery (UNESCO Heritage), built between 1582 and 1584. The architecture of the church contains both Byzantine and Gothic elements, and some elements typical to other painted churches of northern Moldavia. Both interior and exterior walls are covered by mural paintings, which are of great artistic value and depict biblical episodes from the Old and New Testament. The paintings date from around 1601, which makes Suceviศ›a one of the last monasteries to be decorated in the famous Moldavian style of exterior paintings. This evening you will stay overnight in a princely manor built in neoclassical style in 1878 by Prince Ghica as a summer residence. Optional  dinner Conac Polizu.

      Drive towards Transylvania, passing by unique and traditional Moldavian villages. We continue via Bicaz Gorges, gorges in the Eastern Carpathians, on the river Bicaz, making the connection between Transylvania and Moldavia. The gorges attract by its beauty many tourists every year. They are crossed by a winding road. We will pass through Lacu Rosu/Red Lake  Resort where we will have a short stop for admire the landscape, taking some nice pictures and find out the legend of this wonderful place. Arrival in Brasov and discover the most visited city in Romania by taking a walking tour in the old city center. The main attraction is the medieval part of the city with: The Black Church that houses a priceless collection of Oriental rugs as well as a 4000-pipe organ. The Town Hall Square, the Franciscan Monastery, The Central Park, The Black Tower, The White Tower, Ecaterinaโ€™s Gate, Schei Gate and the Rope Street โ€“ the narrowest street in Europe. Overnight in Brasov.

      In the morning, drive to Bran village, between Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains. Get ready to discover one of the most famous legend in Romania, Bran Castle, commonly known as Dracula`s Castle and source of inspiration for Bram Stocker. First built in 1377 for safeguarding the trading route between Transylvania and the Ottoman Empire. It was restored later to finally become a gorgeous summer royal residence in 1920. For many years now, it has been an interesting medieval art museum. Drive to Brasov. Fringed by the peaks of the Southern Carpathian Mountains, Brasov is one of the most visited places in Romania. Founded by the Teutonic Knights in 1211 on an ancient Dacian site and settled by the Saxons as one of the seven citadels, it has been used as a backdrop in many recent period films. Drive to Sinaia, named the Pearl of the Carpathians and visit Peles castle, used as a summer residence by the kings of Romania. It was built at the wish of the first Romanian king, Carol I, after the plans of architects Johannes Schultz and Karel Liman and decorated by JD Heymann from Hamburg, August Bembe from Mainz and Berhard Ludwig from Vienna, hence the similarity to German castles. Peles Castle is a unique construction, one of the most important monuments of its kind in 19th century Europe.  Transfer to Bucharest. Overnight in Bucharest.
