      Welcome to Romania, the land of Dracula and hidden treasures! As soon as you land at Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP), your guide will be there to greet you and take you to your hotel. If you arrive early, youโ€™ll get to tour the old town and experience the unique blend of Western and Eastern European cultures, with the added influence of the communist regime.

      Your adventure begins with a visit to the Palace of Parliament, also known as the House of the People. This iconic building from the communist period is the second largest in the world, after the Pentagon. Your guide will take you through the palace and share fascinating stories about its history and construction.

      After that, youโ€™ll explore Bucharestโ€™s Old Town, a treasure trove of historical sites and architectural gems. Youโ€™ll visit Curtea Veche (the Old Court), the first royal court in Bucharest and the residence of Vlad Tepes, also known as Vlad the Impaler. Youโ€™ll also see the bust of Vlad the Impaler and learn more about his story.

      Lunch and dinner are not included in the tour, so you can explore the city and try some delicious Romanian food. Your guide will tell you about some good places where you can eat.

      In the evening, youโ€™ll have free time to explore the city as you please, whether itโ€™s shopping, visiting a museum, or simply strolling around.

      Targoviste carries a significant connection to the legacy of Vlad Tepes, so it is worth exploring with a sense of curiosity. As you wander through its streets, youโ€™ll encounter the remnants of the royal court, which Vlad Tepes painstakingly rebuilt and fortified, including the notable Chindia Tower. Visiting the Princely Church and Chindia Tower will immerse you in the captivating tales of Vlad Tepes and his reign, leaving a lasting impression.


      After a satisfying lunch, youโ€™ll have the opportunity to venture to the Poenari Fortress, originally constructed in the 13th century and later restored by Vlad Tepes himself. Perched majestically on a mountaintop known as the "Eagleโ€™s Nest," this fortress offers breathtaking views and intriguing historical insights. Please note that the fortress is currently closed for renovation and will reopen to visitors in 2024.


      As the day draws to a close, youโ€™ll settle into your accommodation, conveniently located near the Transfagarasan Highway. Take this time to relax and recharge, preparing for the adventures that lie ahead on your Dracula Tour. While the area may be cloaked in darkness, there is no cause for alarm. Enjoy dinner at your leisure, savoring the local culinary delights. Overnight in close proximity to the Transfagarasan Highway, where tranquility prevails under the night sky.

      Start your day by taking in the breathtaking views as you travel through the Carpathian Mountains on the Transfagarasan Highway, passing through the tallest mountains in Romania, reaching 2042m.

      Later, visit the medieval city of Sibiu, where the legend of Dracula began to spread centuries ago. Take a tour of the Astra Museum, an open-air museum featuring original Romanian monuments, including traditional wooden carriages. The museum boasts over 300 traditional buildings and thousands of classic household objects divided into five sectors.

      Spend the rest of the day exploring Sibiu on a walking tour, visiting landmarks such as Brukenthal Museum, the "Holy Trinity" Roman Catholic Cathedral, and the Huet Square with its Evangelical Church. After the tour, youโ€™ll have a couple of hours to explore the city on your own, with a suggested list of things to do provided.
