Continue to the port city of Sidon, which is already mentioned in the Bible. Even from a distance you can catch a glimpse of the cityโ€™s landmark - the sea fort from the Crusader era. Stroll through the bazaar alleys and let yourself be taken back to past times in the old caravanserai. Last but not least, Tyros (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the southernmost major city in the country, promises numerous impressive sights such as the Arc de Triomphe, the Colonnade Street and the largest known Hippodrome. Only a stoneโ€™s throw away, after the depths of the grotto, you will go to breathtaking heights. Above the town of Jounieh, you climb the mountain by cable car to reach the famous Christian pilgrimage site of Harissa. Perched high above the town here is the statue of the Mother of God, considered the patron saint of Lebanon. Enjoy a fantastic view of the Mediterranean Sea and the bays of Jounieh and Beirut. (B/A)

      Day 5: Cedar Forests

Today you will drive to one of the last cedar forests in Lebanon and have the opportunity to admire the mighty trees, some of which are up to 1,000 years old. As the national symbol of the country, the cedar trees have a very special meaning in Lebanon. The so-called "cedars of the Lord" were widespread in the Lebanon mountains in the past. Since the cedar wood is very durable, it has been used since ancient times, especially for building and shipbuilding, as a result of which the stocks have declined dramatically. Your journey will then continue to Becharry, the hometown of the world-famous Lebanese writer and artist Khalil Gibran. In the Gibran Museum you can see his works as well as personal belongings and his last resting place. At the end of the day, pay a visit to the ancient rock monastery of St. Anthony Kozhava. (B/A)

An exciting interplay of tradition and modernity will captivate you! Marvel at the archaeological site, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and stroll through the beautiful old town with its Crusader castle and the old bazaar. A gentle breeze accompanies you during a walk along the picturesque harbor before returning to your hotel. (B/A)
