  • Day 2 Travel To Shamakhi And Ismailli

      Travel To Shamakhi And Ismailli

      After breakfast we will travel to the Shamakhi and Ismailli , we will visit to these places in the following sequence.

      1) Diri Baba Mausoleum

      The mausoleum is a wonderful example of Shirvan architectural school. According to the scripts found on the monument , the construction date was 1402 and the architect was โ€™โ€™...the son of ustad Hajiโ€™โ€™. 

      2)Juma Mosque

      Shamakhiโ€™s greatest landmark is Juma Mosque.

      It is one of the first mosques of Azerbaijan after the Arab occupation of Caucasus. The Arabian writings reflected on the walls of the mosque show the construction year as 744 AD. This makes the mosque the earliest one in whole Caucasus after the Juma Mosque of Derbent, which was completed in 734 AD.

      3)Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory

      The Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory, named after Nasreddin Tusi of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. Visit the largest astrophysical observatory in Azerbaijan. Established in the Soviet era and used to study the stars and secrets of the universe.

      4)Lahij Historicial-Cultural Reserve

      Lahij is a mountain village known in the 7th century. Lahij was one of the most famous craft centers in the Caucasus since the Middle Ages. The traditions of handicraft, the manufacture of cold steel and copper objects decorated with engraved patterns have been changed from generation to generation.

      This is famous for its weapon and dishes made of copper. Here you can find different souvenir shops, art galleries, and cafes. Visitors can take a walk in the old village and shop for some souvenirs.

      5)Asma Korpu (Suspension bridge)

      Asma Korpu is the hanging bridge over river. An iron suspension bridge spans the Girdmanchay, a fast-flowing river. The bridge , 28 metres long, was built on the river in 1969. Since that time it has been the most important pedestrian path to the village of Zarnava.

      1)Nohur Lake

      Nohur Lake is one of the most popular and visited natural attractions of Gabala, Azerbaijan.  Wonderful lake with boats, horse carts, billiards play, walk, run, jump and have a lot of fun. Wonderful lake view and landscapes. If you want you will buy souvenirs. huts and dry fruit in there.

      2)Tufandag Mountain Resort 

      Tufandag one the longest teleferic of the world. Whether for skiing or just for memorable views of the Alpine scenery behind Gabala. Gabala Cable Car is a highlight of the city. Divided into three parts, you can have an enjoyable experience with really nice views of the city.

      3)Gabala Land

      Gabala Land is the largest open-air theme park in the whole of Azerbijan, and one of the most famous destinations in Gabala, it is called the Azerbaijani Disneyland, because it provides entertainment to its guests, the park is located in the most beautiful areas of Gabala, providing the most wonderful views on th picturesque natur embracing this wonderful park. There is an upside down house which is quite fascinating.

      4)Gabala Shooting Center

      With a modern bright interior, the center hosts many competitions and training both in indoor and outdoor shooting ranges.

      5)Yeddi Gozel Waterfall-Seven beauties Waterfall

      To visit there depends on weather because of its placement.

      Other major attractions are the exotic Yeddi Gozel (Seven beauties) waterfalls. There are seven stairs without seven waterfalls and you can climb the mountain. The waterfall is not coverage by ice because it is covered with ice in late autumn, winter and early spring.

      6)Shaki

      1)Shaki Khanโ€™s Palace

      The most outstanding and valuable monument from the 18th century in Azerbaijan is the Sheki Khansโ€™ Palace. A beautiful palace with exquisite wall paintings and delicate stained glass windows from Murano.

      2)Shaki Karvansary

      Caravanserai โ€“ is a historical monument in Sheki, a part of which is used as a hotel. The caravansaray is a historical complex on the silk route between Europe and China. It was a roadside inn, which until a few years ago was again used as hotel.

      3)Church of Kish 

      Kish is home to a Caucasian Albanian church, dedicated to St. Elisha. The church in Kish is one of the most unique and interesting churches in Azerbaijan.

      4)Shaki

      We can stop at local restaurant in Shaki to taste local meals.

      5)Baku

      Transfer from Shaki to Baku. Overnight stay in hotel in Baku.

      After breakfast we will travel to the Gobustan& Absheron and we will visit to these places.

      Gobustan Rock Art

      Your tour will start with the car picking you up from the hotel. First destination will be the Gobustan- The Archeological monument is located in 56 km from the capital city, Baku. The artifacts and rock carvings were discovered in 1939 โ€“ 1940 years. As a result of the researchers, more than 3,500 human and animal paintings and various markings โ€“ petroglyphs were recorded and 20 suburban shelters have been identified in this place. Mesolithic monuments (medieval stone) are mostly exhibited in the reserve. There are many caves, springs, carved by primitive men on walls of caves, rocks, and stony lumps. First you will visit the Gobustan Museum to get the better insights to the history of the area then you will go by car to the Rock Mountain to see the real carvings.

      Mud Volcanes

      Azerbaijan has the most mud volcanoes of any country, spread broadly across the country. You will hava chance first time being so close to these mud volcanoes that some of them are still bubbling. Interesting to see.

      Bibi-Heybat Mosque

      You will also visit the Bibiheybet Mosque, with magnificent green internal decorative beauty and the First Industrial Oil Well on the Earth that was opened for use in 1846.

      Atesgah-Fire Temple (Surakhany)

      Surakhany Village: Temple of Fire Worshippers. In the first century BC, Hindu Brahmanites and Persian Zoroastrians heard that there was an interesting feature in the land called Absheron โ€“ naked flames burst out of the ground. Ateshgah Temple was founded where there was the largest concentration of these natural fires. At that time, the road of the Great Silk Road passed through this land, therefore, in addition to the temple, there was also a caravanserai, an inn for traveling merchants. The guests will learn the peculiarities of the life of the fire-worshipping hermits and their neighbors - merchants staying in the caravanserai from the fascinating story of their guide. This story is illustrated with numerous installations that adorn the narrative about the beliefs and everyday life of representatives of ancient fire cults.

      Yanardag State Historical cultural and natural reserve

      Yanar Dagh is a natural gas fire which blazes continuously on a hillside on the Absheron Peninsula on the Caspian Sea near Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
