      Awake this morning in Paihia, the gateway to New Zealandโ€™s Bay of Islands where Captain Cook landed in 1769. Make port and disembark for a morning tour to the Waitangi Treaty House, site of the Mฤori and British Crown treaty. Continue to Kerikeri to see the countryโ€™s oldest buildings. Explore the town of Russell at your own pace this afternoon.

      The day is spent at sea as your ship cruises north. Perhaps learn more about the regions youโ€™ll visit with a lecture led by your Expedition Team. Or, simply sit out on deck and relax.

      As the morning unfolds, look to the horizon and spot the impossibly green land of Norfolk Island. Step ashore for a morning visit to St Barnabas Chapel, a mission church completed in 1880. The afternoon is yours to shape with a choice of activities.

      With its turquoise waters, white sand beaches and lush green vegetation, Ile des Pins is paradise. Step aboard a Zodiac for direct access to a remote beach. Here, choose from two sightseeing experiences.

      Land at Tanna, which translates to โ€™Earthโ€™ in the local Kwamera language. This island is home to Mount Yasur, the 361-metre active volcano dominating the landscape. Choose your sightseeing activity.

      Anchor off at Port Havannah, your base for todayโ€™s Zodiac explorations to tropical outer islands. Weather permitting, embark on a nature walk to Feles Cave, the resting place of legendary Melanesian Chief Roi Mata. Itโ€™s then onto Moso Island and the Tassiriki Turtle Sanctuary to learn about wildlife conservation. This afternoon, snorkel off your ship or simply enjoy a beach swim.

      Your Zodiac lands on the shores of Vanikoro, where the ill-fated French La Pรฉrouse expedition was wrecked and stranded in 1788. Go ashore and be greeted by a group of local villagers before exploring the island.

      Your ship cruises through Iron Bottom Sound on its way to Honiara, the site of heavy naval loses in the Battle of Guadalcanal during World War II. On arrival, choose how you would like to explore with a selection of sightseeing experiences. After lunch, enjoy time at leisure.
