      The city of Merw (UNESCO World Heritage Site) is one of the oldest and best preserved oasis cities of the ancient Silk Road.       Today you will fly to Dashoguz. The glory of the former capital of the Greater Oasis of Khorezm is evidenced by a few monuments (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Admire the mausoleums of the Sufi dynasty and Sultan Tekesh, as well as the Kutlug Timur Minaret, at 62 meters the tallest in Central Asia. Pass through the gate of the Ark Citadel and experience the Lyabi-Hauz trading center. In an old caravanserai you will see impressive works of an Uzbek photographer. (F)

      Stroll through the Jewish Quarter and pause at a student cafe where you can meet Uzbek German students. The magnificent house of merchant Khodjaev tells about the wealth of the city and its citizens. See the magnificent Kalan Mosque, one of the oldest surviving mosques in Central Asia. (F)

      On the way to Samarkand, you will head for the former royal city of Shahr-e Sabs (UNESCO World Heritage Site). You will see King Timurโ€™s "White Castle" as well as massive tombs. In the shady courtyard of the Dorus Siadat complex, devout Muslims still gather for prayer. Continue to Samarkand. 2 nights there. (B/A)

      Samarkand, the "Noble", is one of the oldest cities in the world. Its centerpiece is the huge Registan Square (UNESCO World Heritage Site), framed by three magnificent medreses. You will explore the Bibi-Khanum Mosque, once the most beautiful in the Orient. In the palatial Gur-Emir Mausoleum, Prince Timur found his final resting place. Afterwards, the colors of the Orient await you in the domed bazaar. In the afternoon, you will visit the impressive Shah-i Sinda Tomb Road, delve into Samarkandโ€™s early history at the Afrosiab excavation site, and gaze at the stars at the Ulugbek Observatory. In the evening you can optionally cook the dish "Plov" with a local family (bookable on site). (F)

      Immerse yourself in the history and culture of Uzbekistan today! You will visit the magnificent Kukeldash Medressa, the Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum and marvel at the architecture of the Barak Chan Medrese. Continue to the mosque on Chast Imam Street and the colorful Chor-Su market, where local handicrafts are on sale. In the afternoon, take a look at the Tashkent metro with its artistic stations. Continue through the city, passing squares to the Catholic Monastery, where you can feel the spiritual atmosphere. (F)

      Early morning flight to Bishkek. After your welcome by your Kyrgyz tour guide, you will check in at your hotel. You will spend the morning on a leisurely walk in the Ala-Archa National Park.
