On Lake Spenard, the largest airfield for seaplanes, up to 800 planes take off and land daily in the summer. Nearby is the Aviation Museum, where you can marvel at many legendary aircraft types. Then the journey begins with the first driving stage south to Seward on the Kenai Peninsula. The landscape here is characterized by lush vegetation. An afternoon hike is planned in the Seward area. Options include the Iditarod Trail, the spectacular Coastal Trail (tide dependent), historic Fort McGilvary, and the Salmon River at Tonsina Beach, to name a few.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Seward
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 3: Seward

In addition to the option of another hike in the beautiful area around Seward, there are some attractive optional options to choose from today. Most notable is the option to participate in the Kenai Fjords Tour, a six-hour excursion by boat into Kenai Fjords National Park. Undoubtedly one of the best ways to explore the maritime region with excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and, of course, including the breathtaking feeling of venturing close to glaciers calving into the sea. Also worthwhile is a visit to the Alaska Sea Life Center, a seawater aquarium located right in Seward. The restaurants in Seward are known for excellent fish dishes. Donโ€™t miss this opportunity!

  • Day 4 Day 4: Seward- Denali National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Seward- Denali National Park

Today we say goodbye to the Pacific coast and the Kenai Peninsula. The route leads north along the Turnagain inlet. Look out for the white beluga whales, which can often be seen in this bay! Then continue past Anchorage via the George Parks Highway to Denali National Park. In the evening there is the option to participate in a glacier flight of about one hour.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Denali National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 5: Denali National Park

A special park-owned shuttle bus takes you deep into one of the most scenic landscapes in North America. If the weather is good, you will catch a glimpse of majestic Mount McKinley, the highest peak in the USA at 6193 meters. The diverse wildlife is also very impressive. With a little luck you will see wolves, Dall sheep, moose, caribou and grizzly bears. In the evening you will be taken back to the park exit by shuttle bus.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Denali National Park - Glennallen
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 6: Denali National Park - Glennallen

You will leave the Denali National Park region and head east on todayโ€™s drive on the Denali Highway past wilderness panoramas worthy of photography and film. Enjoy the drive. Many Alaskan travelers visit Denali Park, but few use this wilderness route. The natural road is still a real insider tip!

  • Day 7 Day 7: Glennallen - Dawson City
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 7: Glennallen - Dawson City

Continue north. Via the โ€™Glenn Highwayโ€™ you continue your journey on the โ€™Top of the World Highwayโ€™. One of the most beautiful and spectacular high altitude roads in North America. You will drive through alpine plateaus and experience a unique hilly landscape with boreal coniferous forest and tundra. You will cross the highest border crossing between Canada and the USA at Little Gold Creek. On this route you will pass such strange sounding towns as Chicken, Action Jackson or Jack Wade Camp. With the ferry across the Yukon River you will reach Dawson City in the evening.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Dawson City
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 8: Dawson City

Dawson City is located directly at the mouth of the Klondike River into the Yukon. Here in this historic town, gold is still being mined today - as it was at the turn of the century. A highlight is the drive to Bonanza and Eldorado Creek, where you can also visit an active gold mine (optional). Afterwards you get an overview during an excursion to the Midnight Dome, the local mountain of Dawson City, later you roam through the small town with its partly still original, partly lovingly restored pretty buildings. In the evening, a visit to Diamond Tooth Gerties with casino and cancan dance girls is on the agenda.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Dempster Highway
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 9: Dempster Highway

Today we have to get up in time. The next dayโ€™s hike is on the agenda. The drive takes us a bit up the famous Dempster Highway. This gravel road is the only road connection up to Inuvik on the Polar Sea. In total it is over 730 kilometers long! At the foot of the Tombstone Mountains the spectacular day hike starts in this so unique environment. It is an unforgettable experience in the tundra and mountain landscape. Every season has its own special charm in this area. The coloration of the landscape in early autumn is overwhelming. The Tombstone Mountains have a distinctive wedge shape and therefore have always served as a distinctive landmark for early explorers, trappers and also RCMP patrols. The black basalt mountains here appear to the observer almost like a bizarre moonscape.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Dawson City - Whitehorse
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 10: Dawson City - Whitehorse

Itโ€™s time to say goodbye to the Klondike goldfields. Todayโ€™s stage leads along the northern Klondike Highway to Whitehorse. You will repeatedly see the mighty Yukon River on the way. With nearly 3200 kilometers one of the longest waterways in North America. Of course you will also visit the infamous "Five Finger Rapids" - a mighty rapid that has been the undoing of many paddle steamers in the past while navigating the Yukon River. Old post stations, rest houses and small towns on the way remind you again and again of the time of the great gold rush.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Whitehorse - Haines Junction
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 11: Whitehorse - Haines Junction

After a detour to the worldโ€™s longest wooden salmon staircase, itโ€™s about a two-hour drive via the Alaska Highway to Kluane Country. This afternoon, another hike into Kluane National Park is on the agenda. South of Haines Junction is the Auriol Trail, a shorter four-hour loop through beautiful scenery.

  • Day 12 Day 12: Haines Junction / Kluane National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 12: Haines Junction / Kluane National Park

Haines Junction is located directly at the foot of the Kluane National Park. This park is not only the largest national park in Canada, but it is also home to the largest contiguous glacier area on earth, in addition to a diverse wildlife. Not to mention the South and North Poles! To this day, this massive national park remains largely undeveloped and virtually untouched. Today is completely planned for a hike in this fantastic environment. There are numerous trails available for this purpose. One of the most spectacular is at Sheep Mountain overlooking the huge Kluane Lake. Here there are also excellent chances to observe some of the so shy, snow-white Dall sheep. Haines Junction also offers some optional alternatives. For example, how about a spectacular scenic helicopter flight over the parkโ€™s impressive glacier world?

  • Day 13 Day 13: Haines Junction - Skagway
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 13: Haines Junction - Skagway

Passing Kathleen and then Dezedash Lake, the Haines Road offers opportunities for breathtaking views of spectacular pass and mountain scenery. Crossing the coastal mountains, you then reach a completely different climate zone again. Shortly before reaching the Pacific coast, you will pass the Bald Eagle valley - here you will find a particularly high concentration of bald eagles at certain times of the year. From the harbor town of Haines - set against the mighty backdrop of the snow-capped Chilkat Mountain Range - you then take a ferry through the bizarre world of Lynn Fjord to Skagway. With a bit of luck, you might see cute sea otters, puffins, sea lions or even whales. In the evenings in Skagway, you can visit one of the historic bars, for example the "Red Onion Saloon" - a brothel in the gold rush days - and even today you can be transported back to the atmosphere of the old gold rush days with live music and a drink.

  • Day 14 Day 14: Skagway - Whitehorse
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 14: Skagway - Whitehorse

Skagway, once the gateway to the greatest gold rush of all time! The small harbor town on the Pacific Ocean can confidently be called an open-air museum of the gold rush era. Today, almost the entire town with its nearly 800 inhabitants is under monument protection. More than 100 years ago, most of the gold seekers landed here with their ships from the south and thought they had already reached the goal of their dreams. But the far more arduous part of the journey to the gold fields at the Klondike should now really begin. Before we could think of continuing our journey on the Yukon River further north, we first had to conquer the famous, notorious Chilkoot Trail, the lower part of which we will hike today. Today we will drive along the Klondike Highway towards Whitehorse. First through the coastal mountains and then past Windy Arm. Scenic sights invite to short stops. In Carcross and at the Carcross Desert - the smallest desert in the world - and of course you will be able to marvel at Emerald Lake. Also called Rainbow Lake by the locals because of its sensational water coloring.

  • Day 15 Day 15: Departure Whitehorse
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 15: Departure Whitehorse

Transfer of the tour group from the hotel to Whitehorse airport or individual connecting program.
