      โ€ขWe will then visit the ancient โ€˜Gerasaโ€™. In Roman times this was one of the ten wealthy, self-governing cities of the Decapolis, and was famous throughout the Roman Empire for the luxury of its lifestyle. Buried for centuries under blown sand, Jerash is the only city of the Decapolis to have survived to any extent, with an outstanding forum, colonnaded main streets with the drains still intact, two theatres and a most impressive temple of Zeus.  โ€ขWe will then visit Umm Qais, a city which is 378 meters above sea level with a magnificent view over the Yarmouk River, the Golan Heights, and Lake Tiberias, this town was known as Gadara, one of the most brilliant ancient Greco-Roman cities of the Decapolis; and according to the Bible, the spot where Jesus (pbuh) cast out the Devil from two demoniacs (mad men) into a herd of pigs (Mathew 8:28-34).

      โ€ขAfter breakfast , get the chance to discover the special atmosphere of this city that alternates between modernity and tradition. It is also known as the โ€œwhite cityโ€ in reference to the stones used in the construction of buildings. The city with multiple hills has always been inhabited and we find everywhere in the city traces of ancient civilizations. We invite you to visit the Citadel and its Temple of Hercules, Roman theater, Archaeological & Folkloric museums. 

      โ€ขDrive to Madaba, โ€œthe City of Mosaics.โ€ The city, best known for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, is home to the famous 6th century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land.  

      โ€ขProceed to historic Mount Nebo, one of the most revered holy sites of Jordan and the place where Moses was buried. A small Byzantine church was built there by early Christians.  

      โ€ขWe will then head to the Dead Sea โ€“ one of the lowest points on earth 400 meters below sea level. The uniqueness of the Dead Sea has been known very long time ago. Itโ€™s the only place in the world with the unique combination of the spa benefits: peculiar sun radiation (ultra-violet filtered), enriched oxygen atmosphere, mineral-rich salt sea, thermo-mineral springs, and mineral-rich mud.

      โ€ขAfter breakfast, weโ€™ll head towards Kerak to the stake Prophet and King of Israel Solomon (PBUH), another sanctuary is located nearby and is dedicated to the great grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Zaid Bin Ali Bin Al-Hussein.Former cross fortress still surrounded by the fortifications of the old city, Kerak, rises to 900 meters above sea level. Today this city of a population of about 170 000 people still presents various restored Ottoman buildings from the 19th century and offers many restaurants, hotels and other services.   

      โ€ขAfter 1-hour drive, we will reach Petra. Get the chance to attend Petra by Night Show which starts at 8.30pm and finish at 10.00pm every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Allow yourself plenty of time to walk through the Siq โ€“ you donโ€™t want to miss the show! (Optional)

  • Day 5 Explore Petra - Little Petra - Wadi Rum

      Explore Petra - Little Petra - Wadi Rum

      โ€ขAfter breakfast, full day visiting the Rose Red city โ€œPetraโ€ the world wonder, which is Jordanโ€™s most valuable treasure and greatest tourist attraction. It is a vast, unique city, carved into the sheer rock face by the Nabataeans, an industrious Arab people who settled here more than 2000 years ago, turning it into an important junction for the silk, spice and other trade routes that linked China, India and southern Arabia with Egypt, Syria, Greece and Rome. You will take a horseback ride through the Siq, the only access to this city. Visit the Treasury, the Roman Theater, the Royal Tombs, the Court, Qaser Al Bint and the Church. 

      โ€ขWe will explore Little Petra, first you see the big cistern (called Bier El Arayes by locals), then the Siq El Bard (cool canyon โ€“ because it is mostly shaded) which has most facades cisterns. It is very interesting to see how they crave water channels through the rock to collect rainwater to the bottom of the mountain; this technique is referred to as harvesting nowadays. 

      โ€ขAfterwards we will drive towards Wadi Rum Also known as the โ€œValley of the Moonโ€, it was here that Prince Faisal Bin Hussein and T. E. Lawrence set up their headquarters during the Arab Revolt against the Ottomans during the First World War. Their exploits are intimately linked to history. Many activities are possible in this exceptional desert and you will meet first of all the Bedouins of the desert who have preserved their t traditional way of life. A monolithic rock labyrinth stretches from the ground to a height of 1,750 meters, creating an ideal terrain for the most experienced climbers. Hikers will enjoy the tranquility of open spaces; explore the canyons and get the chance to discover the 4,000-year-old rock drawings and other wondrous treasures of this vast desert, 4ร—4 trips.

      โ€ขAfterwards weโ€™ll head to Maโ€™in Hot Springs or Hammamat Maโ€™in (biblical Belmonte), 264 meters (866 feet) below sea level, is the thermal mineral hot springs and waterfalls, where Herod the Great was said to have bathed in its medicinal water, and where people have come for thermal treatments, or simply to enjoy a hot soak, since the days of Rome. Thousands of visiting bathers come each year to enjoy the mineral-rich waters of these hyper-thermal waterfalls. These falls originate from winter rainfalls in the highland plains of Jordan and eventually feed the 109 hot and cold springs in the valley. This water is heated to temperatures of up to 63ยฐ Celsius by underground lava fissures as it makes its way through the valley before emptying into the Zarqa River.
