  • Day 1 Day 1: Addis Ababa

      Day 1: Addis Ababa

      Visit the Ethnographic Museum, a great introduction to Ethiopian culture and history.  Tour the Mercato, one of Africaโ€™s largest outdoor markets, and Trinity Cathedral, resting place of Emperor Haile Selassie. over Night Hotel

  • Day 2 Day 2: Fly To Bahir Dar

      Day 2: Fly To Bahir Dar

      Today you will have to organise your flight from Addis to Bahir Dar (flight not included in tour price). Please make sure that youโ€™ll arrive at the airport in the morning before 8:30 Am. there is a flight ET 126.

      We will then pick you up after your arrival and visit the Blue Nile Falls before lunch. In the afternoon, have a boat trip on Ethiopiaโ€™s largest water body - Lake Tana (3,600 Km Sq) to visit the island monasteries of Ura Kidane Mihret (14th Century AD) and Azwa Mariam (14th Century AD). Overnight Hotel 

  • Day 3 Day 3: Drive To Gondar

      Day 3: Drive To Gondar

      Drive to Gondar. Visit the remote ruins of Kuskuam, built for Empress Mentewab in the 1700โ€™s.  After lunch, tour the Royal Enclosure, a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring five castles built by a succession of Ethiopian Kings beginning in the early 17th century. Having survived several wars, including air raids during World War 2, the castles are a testament to the resilience of this once mighty African Empire.  Visit the church of Debre Birhan Selassie, famous for its religious art and especially its iconic ceiling depicting angels.  OVernight Hotel

      Day 4: Drive To Semien Mountains

      Drive to Sankabar the gateway to the Simien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.  Enjoy some light hiking in the afternoon in the park and spot wildlife such as the endemic Gelada baboon. . drive back to Gondar, Overnight Hotel in Gondar

      Today you will have to organise your flight from Gondar to Lalibela (flight not included in tour price). Please make sure that youโ€™ll arrive at the airport in the morning before 10:30 Am. there is a flight ET 122. Tour the magnificent rock-hewn churches, a UNESCO World Heritage site.  This group of eleven monolithic churches were carved directly into the stone mountainside at least 800 years ago.  This complex boasts the largest monolithic church in the world, a maze of passageways and tunnels, intricately carved reliefs, and fabulous examples of icon paintings.   • Day 6 Day 6: Lalibela

      Day 6: Lalibela

      For the morning we have two options: Take a morning hike with mules to the 13th century rock-hewn monastery of Mount Asheton.  The walk provides wonderful views of Lalibela and the surrounding countryside.  - OR - Drive to Yemrehanna Kristos, a beautiful church situated in a shallow cave that predates the churches of Lalibela. The drive to Yemrehanna will give you the opportunity to view the rural countryside and villages of the Ethiopian highlands. Following either option above continue with tour of Lalibelaโ€™s churches in the afternoon.  Overnight Hotel

  • Day 7 Day 7: Fly To Axum

      Day 7: Fly To Axum

      Today you will have to organise your flight from Lalibela to Axum (flight not included in tour price). Please make sure that youโ€™ll arrive at the airport in the morning before 11:40 Am. there is a flight ET 122. Axum, capital of the ancient Axumite Empire and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Frequent stops at viewpoints along the way.  Tour the ancient stelae fields, standing for 2000 years. Visit the new and impressive Archeological Museum. Visit other tombs and archeological sites as time permits.  Overnight Hotel

  • Day 8 Day 8: Lake Langano

      Today you will have to organise your flight from Axum to Addis Ababa (flight not included in tour price). Please make sure that youโ€™ll arrive at the airport in the morning before 11:15 Am. there is a flight ET 129.

      Fly from Axum to Addis abab and drive to Langano. Overnight Hotel 

  • Day 9 Day 9: Drive To Arba Minch

      Drive to Arbaminch. On the way, visit Alaba & a Dorze Village in the Guge Mountains.  The Dorze are known for their tall, beehive-shaped bamboo houses.  If the base becomes infested with termites, the entire house can be lifted and moved to another location.   O/N Hotel

      Take a boat trip on Lake Chamo and view some of the largest crocodiles in the world sunning on the banks of the lake. Hippopotami and birdlife are also abundant. and afternoon game drive in Nech Sar national park. O/N Hotel

      Day 11: Arba Minch To Jinka

      Drive to Jinka visiting various peoples such as the Gamo and Derashe. Stop at Key Afarโ€™s weekly market (if on a Thursday) and wander among the various tribes such as the Benna and Ari that have gathered to barter their goods. โ€‹Visit โ€œNew Yorkโ€ village, the Konso and Tsemay tribal village. O/N Hotel



  • Day 12 Day 12: Jinka Mursi Tribe

      Day 12: Jinka Mursi Tribe

      Early morning drive to the Mago National Park to visit the Mursi people. The Mursi women are known for the clay plates they insert into their lower lips. Time permitting, visit the Omo Valley Museum in Jinka.O/N Hotel in Jinka

      Drive to Turmi. Drive to Turmi to visit the Hame eople who are well known for the scarring of their bodies, using clay to shape their hairstyles, and the unique practice of "bull-jumping" which every young man must accomplish prior to marriage. En route to Turmi, visit the Benna and Ari people. โ€‹Overnight Lodge
