Itinerary

Day 1: Underberg to Oxbow

Stop At: Sani Pass, Sani Pass, Mokhotlong District
We will leave Underberg at about 09h00 and head up the infamous Sani Pass where your Lesotho adventure begins. We will have an early lunch at the Sani Mountain Lodge (The Highest Pub in Africa) before heading to a Basotho homestead to learn more about the lifestyle of the Mountain People of Lesotho.

Day 2: Oxbow to Katse

Stop At: Lejone, Lejone, Leribe District
We will leave Underberg at about 09h00 and head up the infamous Sani Pass where your Lesotho adventure begins. We will have an early lunch at the Sani Mountain Lodge (The Highest Pub in Africa) before heading to a Basotho homestead to learn more about the lifestyle of the Mountain People of Lesotho.

Day 3: Katse to Mohale

Stop At: Mohale's Hoek District, Mohale's Hoek District
The Katse Dam โ€“ a concrete arch dam on the Malibamatโ€™so River in Lesotho โ€“ is Africaโ€™s second largest dam and on Day 3 we will start the morning on a tour into the wall of this massive dam. You will then enjoy the scenic drive from Katse to Mohale, getting to experience the beauty of Lesotho and all that it has to offer โ€“ from panoramic views of the Lesotho highlands to its unique flora and fauna. We will find a relaxing spot along the way to enjoy our picnic lunch for the day. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the Mohale dam. Our overnight accommodation will be at the Mohale Lodge where you will be able to enjoy beautiful views of the Lesotho Highlands.

Day 4: Mohale to Semonkong

Stop At: Thaba-Bosiu, Thaba-Bosiu, Maseru District
On Day 4, heading back towards the Capital of Lesotho, we visit a Lesotho must-see: Thaba Bosiu. It is the mountain stronghold from where King Moeshoeshoe established and ruled over the Kingdom of Lesotho in the 19โ€™th Century and where he waged many battles to protect his Kingdom. Still today, the Kings and Queens of Lesotho are buried here. If you feel up to it, we take a walk to the top of the hill to see the grave sites.

Stop At: Maletsunyane Falls Semonkong, Semonkong Lesotho
We will then head back towards Semonkong where we will overnight, but we first visit: The Maletsunyane Falls. It is recorded as the highest single drop waterfall in Africa. The Waterfall is 192 meters high and is also home to the highest commercial abseil in the world, measuring a total of 204 meters.

Day 5: Semonkong to Underberg

Stop At: Qacha's Nek District, Qacha's Nek District
On Day 5 we travel out of the Mountain Kingdom via Qachaโ€™s Nek and make our way back to Underberg down the back roads of the Southern Drakensberg โ€“ where the beauty of the mountains continue to impress.
