You meet all the team in Mexico City (meeting point: Esquina de Av. Vicente Suarez y Av. Michoacรกn enfrente del mercado Michoacรกn en la colonia Condesa) and depart towards Amecameca. At Amecameca you make a last stop, where you get snacks and other last minute supplies, then you continue on the road until you reach Paso de Cortes and La Joya. From this moment it is possible to admire in the distance the majesty of "Popo" and "Izta".
The adventure begins, you move towards the area where you will spend the night. You get the camp installed and start the day activities. You can go on an acclimatization hike. The guides also explain all the important and necessary security information for this experience.
After an acclimatization walk, you have plenty of time to rest and have dinner.
You wake up at 12 am and get ready. You start hiking at 1 am with your headlamps and everything necessary to conquer the summit. It is a big challenge, a hike to a high mountain summit. You hike for around 7 hours. The trail to the summit is incredible, you are always surrounded by wonderful landscapes.
Meal: Mountain lunch during the ascent.
Hiking time: Approximately 7 hours climbing.
Difficulty: Very challenging.
The limit time to access the top is noon, safety is important for us. The view is incredible! The excitement of being up there has no equal. You find yourself standing on the third highest mountain in Mexico, surrounded by snow and incredible glaciers. You are now at more than 17000 fasl! What you feel in this moment is complete happiness, the best reward after this great challenge.
After resting for a while, you start the descent.
Walking time: Approximately 6 hours descending. Difficulty: Very challenging.
Back in the camping zone you can enjoy some delicious "quesadillas" (not included). After packing everything, you are ready to go back to Mexico City. You return to the vans and hit the road back. You arrive to the city around 9:00 PM.
