February 28, 2015 is the date in which mountaineers from Mexico City found traces of frozen bodies in the Citlaltepetl (Pico de Orizaba). The local government assured they would take responsibility for removing these bodies, however, having already passed more than 12 months, nothing has been done; The main argument is that you do not have the necessary equipment to carry out this task and, in addition, the cold fronts that approach the mountain.
Luis Espinoza Ruiz is working hard with the families of the disappeared for the rescue to be carried out through private investment, however it seems that due to the unusual climate of the area this rescue could be carried out only until 2017 with an investment of approximately 200 thousand pesos.
The peak of Orizaba is a great mountain to climb, however you need preparation, not only physical but also mental, it is a real challenge and always with the correct equipment and guides your experience will be the best. If you are interested in climbing to the highest point of Mexico you can do so through LocalAdventures.
