After Viennaยดs airport lays behind you the quietness of the rural life surrounds you. Through the fields and wooded hills you reach the small historic town of Bruck an der Leitha.

      Through vineyards and atmospheric kellergasse of one of Lower-Austriaโ€™s wine regions you reach the former Roman city Carnuntum. At the banks of the Danube you will enter Hainburg an der Donau via one of the gates in the medieval city walls. Crossing into Slovakia leads via a calm cycling path right into the heart of Slovakiaโ€™s capital.

      Cycling along the banks of the Danube brings you to the confluence of the Danube and the Morava river with towering high above it the ruins of the Devรญn castle. Via the cycling bridge over the Morava you leave Slovakia. Once back in Austria you pass the Schlosshof manor house before reaching the Donau-Auen national park on the banks of the Danube river. In Orth an der Donau you will not only find the castle with the national park visitor center but also your destination of todayยดs journey.
