Day 01:
Upon arrival at the airport, a representative from Montez Africa Safaris will be at the airport to pick you up with a signboard which has your name on it and transfer you to Arusha for an overnight stay. The drive from the airport to Arusha is about an hour.
Day 02:
After breakfast at your accommodation, you will be collected by your private safari guide and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This is a relatively small but diverse park, 130km west of Arusha. The parkโs namesake is a shallow, salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species.
On your exploration of the park you will see monkeys, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains, but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and after a further afternoon game drive, you will head to your accommodation where you can relax and enjoy dinner.
Day 03:
After breakfast, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Crater; the worldโs largest volcanic caldera. It is almost 20km wide, approximately 600 m deep and is known for its large variety of wildlife. In addition to the Big Five, the various springs attract animals such as wildebeest, gazelles, reed bucks and more than 500 bird species. At a picnic site you will have lunch before enjoying some more game viewing in the crater.
After your afternoon game drive, you will head back to your accommodation in Karatu, in time for dinner.
Day 04:
After breakfast, your safari guide will collect you from your accommodation and drive you to Tarangire National Park (approximately 3 hours). This natural wonder is named after the Tarangire River that flows through the park and provides the only permanent water for wildlife in the area. The park is famous for its large population of elephants and more than 550 species of birds. These creatures are among the fauna that roam the park's grounds, which are dotted with baobab trees, acacia woodlands, high grasses and seasonal swamps. The Park is also home to buffalo, zebra and wildebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators such as lions and leopards. From the open roof of the vehicle you will be able to absorb the scenic beauty of its landscape and watch the wildlife.
The lunch area is fascinating, boasting an observatory with amazing views to the river and wildlife (with good chances of seeing a hunt while having your picnic). In the afternoon we will still do a game drive before continuing to your accommodation.
