Day 2: Yerevan - Ejmiatsin - Zvarnots - Yerevan
Stop At: Yerevan, Yerevan
Youโll begin by getting to know Armeniaโs charming capital, Yerevan. This morningโs tour will encompass the main sights in the city, including the impressive Singing Fountains in Republic Square and the fascinating market stalls of the Vernissage with their mixture of objets dโart, Soviet memorabilia and local crafts.

Stop At: Matenadaran - The Museum of Ancient Manuscripts, 53 Mesrop Mashots Avenue Kentron District, Yerevan 0009 Armenia
Also on the programme is a visit to the Matenadaran where ancient manuscripts are housed.

Stop At: The Churches of Echmiatsin and the Archaeological Site of Zvartnots, Manushyan St, Vagharshapat Armenia
Later, youโll drive out to Echmiadzin where youโll be able to see Armeniaโs oldest cathedral and on to Zvartnots, home to a ruined 7th century cathedral listed by UNESCO. Return to Yerevan in time for dinner. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 3: Yerevan - Garni - Geghard - Yerevan
Stop At: Garni Temple, Geghard Monastery Road H3, Garni Armenia
Garni and Geghard are usually combined into one excursion as they are geographically close together; however, in style they couldnโt be more different. Garni is the more unusual, an Ionic Greco-Roman pagan temple initially constructed in the 1st century AD but restored in the 1970s after a 17th century earthquake left it in ruins.

Stop At: The Monastery of Geghard, Near Goght Village, Geghard Armenia
Geghard is a UNESCO-listed monastery which was founded by Gregory the Illuminator in the 4th century. What you see today dates from the early 14th century but the spring that you can visit is the original sacred spring in Gregoryโs cave. After our visits, weโll drive back to the city and the rest of the day is yours to explore on your own.

Day 4: Yerevan - Khor Virap - Noravank - Areni - Yerevan
Stop At: Khor Virap, Highway 11 - Near the village of Pokr Vedi Artashat, Lusarat 0612 Armenia
Khor Virapโs location is pretty special - located very close to the Turkish border you often have wonderful views of Mount Ararat in the distance. The monastery is photogenic in its own right and fascinating to inspect close up.

Stop At: Noravank Monastery, NoravankMonastery Road Amaghu Valley, Areni 3604 Armenia
Noravank Monasteryโs location if anything is even more fantastic. Approach along a narrow canyon and this religious complex appears, famed for its carvings of Jesus with Peter and Paul. Steep steps run up the outside of the church above its door and the views from the first floor, if you can handle the ascent, are incredible.

Stop At: Areni Wine Factory, Areni Armenia
Last stop today is at Areni, where weโll taste local wines at a popular winery.
